Why No SNL Attraction?

Eddie Murphy's Gumpy is classic may not be PC these days. IMO the first years of SNL with the original cast were the best followed by some great years with Eddie Murphy, Martin Short, John Lovites. Must admit I have not watched it in years.

On record saying I don't like the Fallon Ride. Also not a fan of F&F. I think an SNL type attraction spanning the last 40 plus years would be better than either of those. Could revisit some of the classic sketches and explore some legendary moments. The merchandising opportunities would be insane. Engraved Custom Cowbells, Church Lady talking plush dolls, a Wayne's World clothing collection, on and on. Why did they never do this?
they could try to get Southpark rights for a ride

They didn't make the ride because Jimmy was on SNL it is because he hosts the Tonight Show. That show is the roots of interview TV
Fallon is interview TV executed in humorous fashion. It’s literally comedic advertisements. Still weird Universal would make an attraction based off The Tonight Show. Not saying I don’t care for it, I actually enjoy it. Just an odd concept of an attraction come to life. Then again these higher-ups you speak of decided to retheme an ordinary theme park bakery into Today.

To the particular topic at hand: I’m going to have to give this a BIG no thank you. SNL is absolute garbage these days and there’s no need to glorify the skit hits of 20-30 years ago. It does not fit the demographic Universal is aiming for. You think merch will sell? I highly disagree.

People can say what they want about The Simpsons. The show may be long past due to retire but that franchise still generates money from merch from within the park. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen SNL merch at a local Target or ever, and even if they sold them, I doubt it’ll make money. Look at Fallon within USF... a beautiful spacious gift shop with huge selections of merch and I... still haven’t spotted a single guest wearing a Tonight Show tee. I give Fallon another 5-6 years before it’s replaced. I wouldn’t be surprised if Universal revisits Ghostbusters for this particular plot.
