Why no Rapunzel/Tangled?

Being a fan of the movie, and a believer in going to most of the face character meet and greets at least once, I thought I'd give the Rapunzel meet and greet a try. As a walked past the castle entrance, people where sitting on the wall of the path. I assumed it was for the parade soon, but no. It was for the meet and greet. An hour and a half. blocking a whole path. and this was consistent all day. Maybe Tangled wasn't as popular when the plans were made, or maybe it would be a bad idea, but I thought, why not put a small ORGANIZED area for people to meet Rapunzel and Flynn. DL has a nice one. Throw in a tower, fastpass distibution, maybe where Pixie Hollow was going to go back in that corner. :shrug:
She's not a "classic". It could clash. I understand why some people might not like it, but let me know what you think of the idea. (though its only a dream)

Flynn was meeting there but he was removed for what ever reason... The princesses are getting their own meet and greet area... Snow White is closing and the princess meet and greet hall is going in there... I assume Rapunzel will be part of the princesses going into that spot... I don't remember reading or hearing about which princesses are getting spots in the meet and greet...

Flynn was removed because when he was there, the hour and a half line, was apparently doubled, and the fire marshall only allows 95 in the meet and greet area. I know about the princess court thing, I was wondering if she would be but in there I assume, and hope so. Little girls relate to Rapunzel.

I loved Princess and the Frog, but don't see anything of the movie at the parks.
Especially the movie's fantastic music, the park even has it's own river boat!

I loved Princess and the Frog, but don't see anything of the movie at the parks.

I personally think they should have kept Tiana's Showboat Jubilee for a longer time, but whatever.

Yeah, I never got to see it either. Wouldn't have mind if I did, from what I've read it was supposed to be really rather good indeed.


As for Rapunzel, erm, I've not got much to add save that I love the movie and loved the princess at the M&G, she was a complete darling. Her tower would be a nice addition anywhere! (Well, except EPCOT)

That's what this old cast member told me. Said he's been working the meet and greet since it opened. According to him it was "One or the other". So they did the obvious and picked Rapunzel. But, that might have been just to the extent of CM's. There might be some other reason up in the company.

I believe complaints from guests brought this on. Having Flynn made the line longer. Guests didn't like waiting 2 hours to meet 2 characters. I understand their frustration. Sometimes, if you want to meet a character you will do what it takes to meet them.

IMO Disney entertainment totally underestimated the desire that guests had to meet Flynn and Rapunzel. Instead of figuring a way to "add them" elsewhere they choose to take a character away.

I loved Tiana's show - it was fun and festive. My daughters were all about it and it got people to watch TSI and take a break.

I love the classic characters - of course but these new properties are being pushed aside. The Avatar thing still makes me upset since there are so many other things I would do.

Rapunzel and Tiana need a place to roam. I would rather they turned Snowwhite into a Tangled ride and then have a Tiana attraction near HM. Tiana is begging for a dark ride.

We were there the last week that Flynn was making appearances...there were some "off duty" cast members in line in front of us, and they told us that having both characters there made it longer because the interactions with the guests were longer. When we got in to meet them, I saw this first hand. The Flynn we had was beyond charming, and the Rapunzel was adorable. The two of them interacted with our entire family, as well as each other. My two little girls were in heaven...the people behind us, not so much...

We were there just after Thanksgiving and did the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas and got to see all the Princes and Princesses together which was worth the price of admission for my daughter and my neices! We didn't wait much more than an hour to see Snow White, Aurora and Rapunzel together with their princes at Town Hall and saw all the others Princesses in less time.

We knew in planning that doing this was likely the only way we would ever get to see Flynn and the best way to see Rapunzel.

Maybe Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Daisy??? I don't do the meet and greets but I wouldn't mind seeing Oswald in there as well...

I don't know how much room is in there, but if we're supposed to be meeting Mickey in the backstage area/dressing rooms, then maybe the current princess area will be themed to the stage portion of the theater. Perhaps we'll even get a small auditorium, proscenium, etc. Could be a second coming of the Main Street Cinema, but I'd seriously doubt that.
