WHY NO LOVE ?

I could personally enjoy a day at the Studios with just Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. Those are the two of the most beautifully themed areas in all of Walt Disney World. Granted, there will be a lot of rides on Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster before the day is over.

Just obliterate the hat and the Studios will automatically be a some-what better park

Come on Britt. You've got Fantasmic,Beauty & the Beast,Indy,Lights,Motors,Action,Little Mermaid,Excellent live shows,Then you've got Toy Story Midway,Star tours,ToT,Rock n Roll coaster, and what about Starring Rolls for that ultimate cupcake. And before you leave thro the gate, don't forget your photo under the Hat.;)

I don't think I'd include Lights, Motors, Action in a list of attractions when trying to promote that park. That show is a life suck. My time would be better spent watching the AT-AT outside of Star Tours for signs of life, or maybe trying to swim to the Beach Club underwater.

As with most things in life, personal taste is subjective. In this case, I prefer grandeur over whimsy.

The BAH looks like it'd fit pretty well up there on the theater entrance roof, actually.
Just plop the up there and call it a day. :p ;)

My wee neighbour,aged 4,loved it.

My immediate neighbors might have been really into the show, too, but I couldn't tell because I was asleep.

In all seriousness, I consider the entire plot of land to be a huge waste of space. If that stadium and the Backlot Tour were to be leveled, think of all of the awesome stuff Disney could fit in there! And it's ready-made for some renovation, too. You could wall off the entire back section of the park, from the entrance of the Backlot Tour across to the Phineas and Ferb Meet and Greet area at the end of the Streets of America, and no one would really feel like the construction was getting in the way of the flow of the park, like it did at California Adventure on the left coast.

Remove that boring old junk and replace it with some exciting, new stuff, is what I say! Monsters, Inc Door Coaster, anyone?

Ok,get the picture.Funny thing is I visited Graums Chinese theatre at Los Angeles, loved the hand prints and the walk of stars but the area was as sleazy as hell.Every second shop was selling sex stuff.
I totally noticed that too!

I don't mind the hat, but I was never in WDW before the hat so I don't know the difference. DHS is one of my families favorite parks, only behind MK.

1 - Tacky element
2 - Blocks the wonderful architecture of the Chinese Theater
3 - was "supposed" to be temporary
4 - ridiculous venue for a gift shop
5 - has nothing to do with the "classic Hollywood" feel of the main hub

At least those are my big peeves with it. The only saving grace is the occasional good photo where it looks like you are actually wearing the hat but other than that it is too ostentatious for my tastes where it is now.

After 7 trips to Disney parks, all on property, in the last seven years, they already have my $10,000, and then some. Jeez, I'll probably be giving them half that on our wedding/honeymoon trip alone this upcoming November. I think I can consider myself a minority investor now. Let's see some construction cranes!

Really prefer the original Chinese Theater view. Had we never had that view, the Hat would actually be ok as an icon.

I don't like Hollywood studios at all, personally or its theming...I don't mind the hat. :)

The best part of DHS is the front gate :)

Was easily my least favorite of the 4 main parks but doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. It's the one park that I would not visit on multiple days during a trip.

I never saw the original, but the pictures in this thread are breathtaking. I think it looks a lot better without the hat. The hat would be great else ware, though, because I actually like the hat. But the placement is awful.

We need time for things to happen.
unlike @Britt I don't have a strong desire to burn down DHS..: )
I actually like this park quite a bit, but it's always felt unfinished and disjointed and the BAH is just another example of this park just not being 'there' yet. I honestly think I wouldn't mind it as much if it was elsewhere. How about the animation courtyard?
