Why is there no walkway from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom?

The floats aren’t the only thing that needs to go through that canal though. The steamboat has to travel through to go around to the dry dock for maintenance and refurbishments. I’ve always heard the steamboat just barely fits under the monorail beam. So it would probably need to be around 60-70 feet tall.

I forgot about that. Disney would have to construct a bridge similar to the one in WS that opens to allow the globe and other barges out into the Lagoon for Illumniations.

I'm seeing people in here say to walk to the Contemporary from the TTC... can you actually do that?

And then if so, instead of catching the monorail, couldn't you just walk to the park from there? It wouldn't be a direct route, but it would get you there.

Theoretically, you could, but there are no sidewalks and it would be quite a trek - not sure I'd want to be walking under the water bridge with cars & buses buzzing by. Plus, security would probably stop and ask you to get in their vehicle and give you quite a lecture.

You can easily walk from Poly to the TTC. And from the Contemporary to MK.

It's a very dangerous way to get from TTC to the Contemporary. I've seen Disney security stop and question people who are walking...or running...along the roads.
It’s actually not that dangerous. There are sidewalks for portions of it and when there’s not there’s plenty of room to give you a small buffer from the road. I used to see lots of people walk that route.

You're right. It's not dangerous at all. There is a very wide pedestrian sidewalk under the water bridge. Here's a video that gives a good view of the sidewalk:

We regularly walk from the TTC to the MK.
