You must be like my long lost family member or something because I completely agree with you. I love Stitch. I have to agree with you about him being a nice counterbalance to the princess stuff. And I love Stitch's Great Escape. I think that it is hilarious and that it is a lot better than Alien Encounter. Also, I hate Family Guy and The Simpsons. No, some of us can think for ourselves and actually DO like Stitch. And, some of us even LIKE Stitch's Great Escape! (gasp!). I think he is a humorous and well-developed character (I loved the Monorail voiceover used up until recently. The "Are we there yet?" came just moments after one of my friend's daughters asked exactly the same question), who represents a new, quirkier style of Disney. I think he's a nice counterbalance to all that Princess merchandise. If anything, I'd say I'm more tired of that. However, I realize there's a market for Princesses, as well (and it holds up the more traditional side of Disney), so why not?
P.S. Can't stand "Family Guy." I've never found it, or another similar, older show - "The Simpsons" - the least bit entertaining. But that's just me...ignoring commercialism for personal taste.
Actually, I think that they have lightened up a little bit. There is not as much Stitch stuff as there used to be (he isn't on the monorail as much anymore). I think that they have decided to play the Nemo card again. A few years ago, there was a lot of stuff for Nemo. And now they are coming out with the ride and the musical. Don't get me wrong, I love Nemo too.Well, I'm not that keen on stich, not even my kids like SGE. My nephew likes stich, bought a visor. I personally find him a bit grating..just a bit. I loved the movie Lilo & Stich, but I am ready for Disney to lighten up a bit.
Really?I was so sick of seeing stitch merchandise everywhere. It was hard to just get an item with the classic characters on it, they almost ALL had him shoe-horned in somewhere, very annoying.
It became a running gag on the trip, "look! Stitch merchandise! Wow! You can't just get that anywhere, its almost as hard to find as Pirates stuff!"
I don't agree with you about the ride, but I do think that trying to find just the alien Stitch things is a good idea. It can really narrow it down.we think stitch is great even if his ride is one of the worst things disney has ever done. One thing we do is to keep to getting only alien stitch things (with all the arms out and such) and it makes looking for stitch things alot eaiser.
That is exactly right!People are buying products with Stitch on it, around it, in it, above it, over it, under it...and whatever else. Do you really think Disney would try to push Stitch on everyone if the masses were buying Nemo or Peter Pan products like crazy?
Oh, i could find just Mickey, or just Donald. But if you want something, a photo album for example, with the 5 "classic" characters on it, STITCH is crammed in there with them. ugh.Really?
When I was there (a couple of weeks ago), I could find plenty of stuff without stitch on it and with Mickey, Donald, etc. on it. Maybe you were looking in all the wrong places.
Oh, ok. I thought that you were also talking about shirts and stuff like that. There were several with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto all on them without Stitch. Sorry for the confusion!Oh, i could find just Mickey, or just Donald. But if you want something, a photo album for example, with the 5 "classic" characters on it, STITCH is crammed in there with them. ugh.
hey, i LOVE Lilo & Stitch, i own the DVD, i even kinda liked SGE (chili dog stench not withstanding), but enough is enough... a little goes a long way with an "in your face" character like our little blue friend
