Why is it called Cinderella's Castle?

Well I think we know who wears the trousers in that relationship! Every time I see a picture of those guys the Prince is always down on one knee - it must be a hard life....

Well Florida is a no fault state so either they come to an agreement or the castle gets sold and they split the profit. I would not worry to much though. Couples that live in Fantasyland tend to live happily ever after.

Oh come on, Cinderella was a poor working-class girl marrying royalty.

Hopefully Charming got a pre-nup.

:ROFLOL:

Ah, No...you are incorrect there...Cindy's dad was a duke or some-such lower ranking royalty person, much like Princess Diana's family had a royal lineage.
Cindy did have royal blood in her from her father's side.

I've never really been a big fan of Cinderella, so thanks for correcting me.

I don't think the "wicked stepmother" counts as a great disney villain though... I mean... Malificient was an evil fairy and could place curses on people. The stepmother was just an epic level b****

It isn't Cinderella's Castle, it's Cinderella Castle. It represents the ideals and dreams of fairy tales like Cinderella but does not have any possessive terms.

It anybody were to own it, it would be the nameless, grandchild-seeking King as he isn't dead yet. Note the castle where Aurora was born in was named after her father King Stefan, who ruled it.

As for which gender could design a better castle, I'll leave that one to those who dare fight the battle of the sexes.

AMEN!!!! Then best way to describe it!!!!

Sure.

I agree with you...I think that is one of the reasons you don't see Lady Tremaine a lot. She isn't a great villain. Although she is pretty evil. But, she is not on the level of the Evil Queen, Mal and Ursula.

That's a fairly narrow minded view of villainy if you only think of people with magic powers as "great villains". Guess any Hitchcock heavy can't be great either.

It's what works best for the story and Lady Tremaine is by far the most intelligent and cruel of all Disney villains who knows how to really psychologically abuse her victims and at times prevent them from physically doing things.

Although I love Maleficent and the like, you have to admit the stepmother is a very strong villain for the kind of role required.

You misunderstand my statement. I said she's not a great -disney- villain, not a great villain. For a story where the heroine is laced with disney magic, Lady Tremaine is hardly a worthy opponent. Its the disparity in strength between the protagonist and antagonist that bothers me. Magical stories should have magical villains.

For instance, I think Shan Yu is a great villain because he is on similar footing to the story's protagonist. He is not magical, but the story itself is not about magic. The same can be said for Scar. He fits the story.

I do not think that Lady Tremaine fits the story as it pertains to the magical aspect, the disney feeling. Is she cruel, vindictive and a terrible person? Yes. But she's hardly on the caliber to contend with the blue fairy that makes everything all better.

Cinderella's castle looks better on a park map and commercial than "Prince Charming's Castle."
That, and because we all know who's on top in THIS relationship

Thats hilarious. I gotta say when I first saw the title of this thread I was a little concerned how they ended up on this site.
