Why is everything booked?

I'm going 12/6 to 12/14. I called 180 days out on June 9th at 7am and didn't get through until 8:20! I was very worried that I would not get Le Cellier! It was ridiculous. I did get everything I wanted, but not the times I wanted.

People are calling 180 days out and using the plus 10 rule because they know they have to. I've heard talk that disney is thinking about letting everyone make their ADR's up to a year out and they are in plans for new restaurants since they need them....which is why I think they are closing Pleasure Island to make room for new eateries.

The dining plan and deluxe plans are getting more and more popular and early/Mid December is not slow anymore. The secret is out.

In addition, it will be the week of mousefest, the xmas parade taping and pop warner. I don't expect to have as good a time as I did in Dec of 2006 because of all this.

We're going 12/9-12/15, and I got everything I wanted when I called 180 days out from 12/9. Not perfect times, but good enough. We had to split a party of 6 at LeCellier into 4+2, but we got in, so I was happy.

I tried calling yesterday to change something, and no luck...I couldn't get into Mama Melrose or Hollywood & Vine with the Fantasmic package for any of 3 different nights. Other than that, we look pretty good!

December 8-14, I too called at 180 days. I got in every place we wanted, but at Ohana and Chef Mickey's we had to be more flexible with the times, both about 90 minutes later than I had hoped for.

Call back a few times between now and your trip. Some spots do open up by those who are nice enough to cancel ADR's when they make other plans.

I think it may be the party size..I am going the week of the 6-15 and I called the other day and got everything I wanted including Le Cellier for dinner and lunch and everything else for 3 people..

It's definately busier than normal for this period.

due to my work I don't get to book my vacations a long way out and usually book my vacation around 5 months in advance. This means I usuallly go off season so as to maximize my chances and that is usually Early December or January.

Well I went to book with DVC yesterday and there's nothing available on those dates. Absolutely nothing.

I'm going to phone again Monday and try other options but then it's the old wait list for me.

I know that there isn't a really quiet time like there used to be at Disney, but I've never had trouble booking December this far out before.
