Why i'm OK with this Guardians of the Galaxy Makeover

But I guess any IP would do.

I realize that this is meant to be sarcastic but you're overlooking the point I was making about the difference between an IP Disney owns versus one that it rents for use in ToT. I'm not against Twilight Zone, just wondering why a non-Disney brand is acceptable and GoT is not.

Because the attraction was designed around the IP. This is akin to Universal shoehorning Kung Fu Panda into the Hogwarts Castle when people tire of Potter.

Since WDW's appears to be staying themed to Twilight Zone, it's actually kind of cool that the two near identical rides at opposite ends of the country will be completely different experiences depending on which park you visit. That's something they should do more often. I'm all for never cloning anything, either go bigger, better or different, or don't go at all.

Give me a reason to fly across the country or across the world to visit all of your theme parks, otherwise if you just clone everything across the world, I'll just go one state down and save the extra money.

I agree with this. I think it's better off if they don't clone to begin with. But when they do clone and create a wildly popular attraction for 12 years and counting then I think it would be wise to leave it alone. TOT isn't dated like say ATIS was when it closed or empty like the CBJ theatre, this is one of the most popular E tickets At the resort with a timeless theme.

I'm ok with them cloning different things other countries but agree about the US. We've been lucky enough to be able to afford to visit WDW 3 times, unfortunately many folks will never get to and will miss out on some great things like Spaceship Earth, Great Movie Ride, etc which really would be the only rationale for cloning some things...just not everything.

Still though. Once it comes, you all will be begging for it to come back.

Honestly, as long as I can continue to hit up the original on my visits to WDW I'll be fine. DCA's version was always ToT Lite -- like when you'd find a version of your favorite fast food joint in a truck stop food court. It has some of the menu items you like, but is never quite the like the real thing.

Our ToT was OK up until the ride itself (still not even close to FL), but once you get in that elevator the experience was pretty lackluster. Hopefully they are going to remedy that with the redo here and not just focus primarily on the queue. The idea of having an all new on-ride experience with multiple drop sequences and a fun 70s rock soundtrack will give it an interesting edge and more re-rideability that it's been sorely lacking.
