Why does Disney hate foreigners?

Last time we stayed onsite (OKW, 6 of us) it cost us, with economy flights, over £20,000. We did get the free DDP and also 35% discount. Yet it still costs that much.
This time we are staying offsite but even our passes alone are costing us £1700 ish. We'll be eating onsite as it's too much hassle to drive offsite. We'll be paying for parking.

Anyway, when we visited in 2012 we ordered from Photopass. I chose a photo album as a free gift. It bumped the delivery charge up but for a park-exclusive product I didn't mind. I don't get how Disney can send a paid product with free product, yet not do the same for APs? Wasn't the Magic Band shipping thing to do with RFID chips or something?
I've signed up with Borderfree, they have shipping deals with American stores. I wish they would include Disneystore as the .com site is so much better than .co.uk.
I hate Guns and Roses and really not that fond of Aerosmith either.

G&R I can understand although I liked them.

But Aerosmith? That is some good music right there:)

Yeah. They put out music that people like. They're sellouts, but not as blatant as KISS, and they don't make any bones about it, unlike Metallica.

Though, in fairness, their cover of the Spider-Man theme wasn't nearly as good as The Ramones'.

See that whats happens when socialism takes root in a country, the folks under it's roof want stuff for free!

So Mickey only ships to non socialist countries for free!

I would think them putting out music that people like is a good thing. Hell If I were them I would be a "sell out" too, whatever that is exactly. They are making a ton of money, and good for them they have the talent and have paid the dues to deserve it.

I was playing Kill Em All on cassette tape when that was Metallica's only album....been listening to them for decades. I do remember when they were once called sell outs James replied, "yeah were sell outs, we are selling out every show"...... :)

Not trying to debate with you, just saying IMO a band does not have to shun huge commercial success to remain true to their music. Just my .02

Metallica may be a bunch of tossers but as a live band and a piece of entrainment they continue to be in the upper echelons.

Two Disney ride features for the price of one

Aerosmith actually made more money from Guitar Hero than any of their albums combined.

As for Metallica, they still try to act like they're still these hardcore rebels. Like the commercial for their Guitar Hero game, where they totally flipped the Risky Business parody the previous games had been doing, like they're somehow above that. Please. You appeared on a t-shirt with SpongeBob; don't act like you wouldn't dance around in your underwear if the price was right.

OK, "hate" may be a strong word, but it drives me crazy that they do things so differently "domestically" than they do "out of country". For example:

  • Shipping charges for any purchases from the Disney Store to within the US are fairly reasonable and often offered for free as a promotion. The same purchase being shipped to Canada or overseas they regularly charge more than half the value of goods purchased, sometimes actually more than doubling the cost when you factor in brokerage fees and duty and never offer promotions.
  • Certain items in the Disney Store simply can't be purchased if you don't live in the US.
  • Annual Passholders in the US get the Mickey Monitor, free swag [the AP WDW car magnet], and lots of emailed info. Live outside the US? Nothing.
  • Magic Bands and the Mickey Head USB stick are routinely shipped to US resident Resort Guests. Foreigners have to pick their MBs up on arrival and don' get the USB stick at all. Even the AP Magic Bands aren't being shipped [for my stay in August, I'm expecting two sets of Magic Bands for both myself and my son, our resort stay set and our AP set].
It seems strange that they treat guests so very much differently. It really would cost significantly less to mail things to other countries when there's time rather than everything going by courier companies [I'm getting F&W event tickets delivered by Fedex tomorrow that could easily have been sent snail mail]. So where it would make sense to save on costs, they don't, but where a relatively small cost could satisfy so many more guests, they skimp.

I don't feel that I'm owed anything from Disney, I'll be going for years to come. But it's frustrating when I'm investing lots of money in the trips when I'm there and even more to fly to WDW and back [six times this year alone] and they send lots of cool stuff to all the friends I make while I'm there and nothing to me.

I believe all these issues are just aimed at you after the multitude of letters I've sent Disney. Be forewarned, these issues are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe my youtube video detailing all the dangers of Monty will really cause them to tighten the screws.

All this talk about Foreigner makes me want to quote Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

"I don't NEED no instructions to know how to ROCK!"

So you and I are not going to the Aerosmith concert together? :)
