Why do people hate Stitch's Great Escape?

I did not like SGE because to me they made very few changes to the ride. I was expecting something different and it was basically still AE. They just threw Stitch into the ride. AE scared me no matter how many times I saw it. IMO, the ride was not improved by making it Stitch and kids would still be scared because of the darkness and noise.

How can you say Alien Encounter was good. It was always dark. Atleast in Stitch you can see things. I like the swirling laser guns as well as the story. Alien Encounter basically had no story... I don't really remember much of it. I just remember that you saw something for a split second (did it even move?) and then the lights went out. I don't remember how it ended... Did the creature escape from the building or get captured again. Stitch isn't supposed to be scary, it is just for people to relax and have fun. I think Stitch is the superior attraction.

When I was there in June, the robot in the first room was spraying hydraulic fuel all over the first row. I thought we were going to blow up. Everyone thought it was part of the show, but I knew that that wasn't supposed to happen! I had to go get a CM and they were like "OK" like it happens all the time or it wasn't a big deal. Then I told someone else and they started freaking out and asking where so and so was. So we were all escorted out. I I liked Alien Encounter better because it was kinda almost scary. Now it's just kind of bland I guess- which was the intention, to tone it down for the kiddies. Kids would probably like it more than adults.

Stitch is the only Disney character I truly do hate...utterly without charm, humor, or any kind of Disneyesque attractiveness. When we were there a few weeks ago, we walked by the building, mourning X-S Technology and our beloved Chairman Clench.
Yep, that's what the Magic Kingdom needs, a convicted child molester in the cast.

How can you compare two attractions when you can't even remember what the first one was really like? :brick:

I can compare it because if I don't remember it much, I know that it wasn't good enough to bother remembering or go on it again.

No, it was hydraulic fuel! You know the robot police guy (or whatever he is)? He is seated at a keyboard and he does the experiment with the orange scruffy creature. He popped a tube and the ____*t was flying everywhere. The entire first row of people standing were hosed down. I still have stains on my $40 purple mickey polo. And all I got was a child switcheroo fast pass thingy. It may have scarred me for life. Or at least gave me an anti-SGE phobia!

Couldn't have stained too much since they are required to use CLEAR hydraulic fluid, or was that just for the Abraham Lincoln AA..

That's true, when Lincoln sprung a leak, it had red liquid and people thought Disney was recreating the assassination of the president. Now it is only clear liquid from now on on all AAs.

SGE is the only ride at WDW that I dislike :hurl: I say they should just let Stitch escape and build a new ride. Poor Skippy

Skippy is still at the attraction. As well as his mutant couterpart.

AE had a much better storyline, you were entering a convention center where the company X-S was showcasing their products. The product they were showing to us was a teleporter. But when we see the product something goes terribly wrong, they acidentally transport a big alien to us that breaks the tube and runs loose in the audience. The ending was that they had to get rid of the Alien so they supercharged the teleporter and blew up the alien!

I love it Darthjonny that you complain about AE being dark, well SGE has to go dark as well otherwise the effects would not work.

I won't compare it to AE...'cause there really isn't any comparison.

Stitch on its own has sad dialog, poor jokes, a disjointed excuse for a plot. This could have been so much more. The chili burp is just disgusting. They even tried to make this ride less scary by using constant stupid chatter in the dark. What a waste.
