Why DL rules and why WDW vacuums

You know what's funny?
I don't get the point of this thread. WDW vs DL. WDW vs Uni. Blah blah blah. Same old boring story. The only good thing I'm getting out of this thread is that I will be in DL in August and will be riding these attractions on the YouTube videos.

Ah, Alice in Wonderland. I haven't been on that in a cool minute. I don't even consider WDW's Fantasyland functioning compared to DL's after I went on like 6 dark rides, the Matterhorn, Storybook Land, the outdoor teacups, Dumbo in the midway with this spectacular iconic view, took a drag while watching a submarine float by in the lagoon, saw the "it's a small world" palace and even saw Roger Rabbit himself. WDW's sucks by comparison.

Having spent a considerable amount of time at DLR last week, I can assure you neither WDW or DLR rules or vacuums. I hope to post a TR with pictures in the next week or so.

I think the gist of this discussion is that Disneyland continues to excel while Disney World seems content to coast by with mediocrity and stagnate.

The people running DL learned from their mistakes at California Adventure. It was resoundingly and rightly rejected as sub-par. Then they fixed it, almost overnight. They continue to add E-ticket attractions and upgrade attractions at both parks and the result is a place that exceeds expectations and doesn't disappoint--like Disney World used to be.

Why is Disney World not as good? Because the people running the place have figured out it doesn't need to be. The people love it no matter what and keep coming. There is no incentive for Disney World to bother with excellence (E-ticket attractions, upgrades, quality resorts), when the crowds continue to grow.

And given the disappointing Fantasyland expansion (compare it with what happened down the road at Universal; or heck, compare it with any of the E-ticket attractions that have been around the Magic Kingdom for decades) I don't hold great hope that there is anything in the future at Disney World that is going to change things.

And I think some of the comments here show just how little it takes these days to please die-hard Disney World fans. A longer monorail?

This ride is merely an example of why every single ride (except Splash Mountain) is better at DL.

While most attractions that exist at both WDW and DL are better at DL, Splash Mountain ain't the only one that's better at WDW:
Tower of Terror (the movement of the elevator, etc.)
Astro-Orbiter -- On the 3rd floor in WDW vs. a half-basement in DL
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh -- Longer ride with added motion on the vehicle for the Tigger bounce section
Jungle Cruise -- Temple section is a notable plus at WDW (although DLR has piranhas and WDW doesn't)

Plus others have the same attraction experiences with other elements making WDW's better:
Star Tours (6 bays in DHS vs. 4 at DLR makes for shorter lines)
Toy Story Mania -- Same attraction, but a far better queue. In fact DCA's TSM queue is about the worst queue ever!
Dumbo -- Better visuals and dueling spinners

Both have their plusses and negatives, but yes, Pirates and Space Mountain are superior in the west.

Let's talk about WDW's Haunted Mansion, though......
I don't necessarily think WDW's HM is better. The Hatbox ghost added in Cali is really quite nice.
