Why did they not make the Castle a walkthrough? And will they ever?

My wife really loved the Mosaic drawings under Cinderella's Castle. She took loads of pictures. I don't have a problem with it the way it is. It is a beautiful castle regardless of which angle you see it from.

The Cindy castle at MK is the biggest waste. A super expensive reservations only restaurant, an unusable 'guest' suite, and a girly boutique shop...yet the Tokyo version has(d) a walk through, Anaheim has a walk through, Paris has a walk through/under...does Hong Kong? I think maybe it's time to take a cue from the Storybook castle being built in Shanghai...put a ride in there! That castle's going to kick every other castle's butts!

It's the tragedy of the MK. I consider it the greatest castle ever build. I like Cindy's much better than the Miniature Mansion in DL or the Candy Palace in Paris.
But then they never did anything with the castle, it's interior and surroundings, in forty years. Well, that's not true, they made it more exclusive, nearly completely off-limits to the average guests. Can't even watch it from a boat in the moat in front anymore.

They ought to change the name of Cinderella Castle to Crofton Fortress.

I don't think it is a case of they haven't done anything to it for 40 years, it's more of a case of they never intended it to be anything more then the park Icon. Had some room and added a restaurant and gift shop and that was it. Sort of like the "Hat" on steroids.;)

I believe it is like most if not all buildings in WDW.

You start with a modern building, in this case they planed for a restaurant, gift shop, they likely had storage which they were later able to change to the VIP Suite.

Then you add wire mesh, make the outside appear to be a castle not what is really is a typical industrial building of the 70s

Used to be able to walk through to FL, and see the carousel from the other side, but now it's a stage show in front (occasionally you can walk through to FL: nice shortcut.)and a restaurant. Oh well, those were the days!;)
Actually the "walk thru" they are talking about here is the fact that Aurora's castle at DL has an actual attraction where you walk into the castle. The "walk thru" you're talking about still exists... you just can't use that pathway when the show is going on.

Do you mean Sleeping Beauty's Castle? I'm not sure what Aurora's Castle is!
