Why Did Disney World Change Logos?

They seem to be using it a bit much for it to be considered the "old" logo.

I wouldn't consider it old anymore, either.

I don't think the Atom or flower or whatever logo was ever really retired they just stopped using it in promotional material. If it was really "officialy" retired it probably would not still be imprinted near the fountain or the new park bus signs or dare I say it' the new security gates.(shudders)
