Why can't you record American Adventure?

I have never had a problem taping AA but I do not use my LCD screen when recording and I usually sit in the back so as to not bother other guests.I also go in the slow time of the year so crowds are not as bad.I dont sit there with camera up to my face as I position it pretty good in my hand steadied by the armrest. If I knew someone was behind me I would certainly not hesitate to not record as I would want the same respect if it were me.

The only World Showcase attractions that are currently a no-tape zone are American Adventure and Impressions de France (which once upon a time was okay to tape and it hasn't changed, so go figure).

Well with France they probably don't want people to go home and experience only half of what France has to offer. i.e. the smell of the un-showered. :ROFLOL:

Also the bright white national flag will throw off the color balance on most cameras.

When I was younger, sometime in the 90's, I recorded a lot of DW attractions since we just had bought an 8mm camera with the old fashion eye-peice view finder. I recorded ones like AA and COP where all they said was no flash or external lights. I even recorded LOTLK both the preshow and the main show. The main thing you need to do is just be courteous to others around you. Too many times have I seen some random person in the middle of the theatre with his camera at eye level, LCD screen open allowing everyone behind him the opportunity to watch whatever attraction you are on on TV. I've even seen some of these people use external lighting, where a CM doesn't say a word. I always sat in the back rested my arm on the armrest and recorded whatever I needed. I even went so far to turn off the red recording light so that it wouldn't effect anyone involved. So far I haven't had a CM say a word.

The policies of how CMs can address the issue are vague. At VOLM the no flash and no camera lights policy is in effect both for audience enjoyement as well as not blinding the performers who are working under blacklight conditions on the stage.

But once the show starts the CMs are restricted to how they can handle violations...They used to try to pinpoint the offender with their flashlights but that annoyed the other guests in the area who were just trying to watch the show.

I suggested that each seat be wired with batteries and electronics so when a flash or bright video light was used it would send a small electric jolt into the seat.

For some reason no one seemed to buy into that idea...

As far as I know you can tape. Just some of us CM's say no videotaping and others say no external video lighting. I always say video lighting. So it depends on how well they say their spiel...

I can tell you my reason. Some jerk sat in front of us during the whole show and recorded it with the LCD screen on the whole time. was so distracting we didnt even see hardly any of the show............
