Why can't you catch a bus from the Parks to Disney Springs?

I seem to think you used to be able to, but now you have to catch a bus back to your resort first, then to Disney Springs. I'm thinking maybe this is to prevent people (staying off property) from parking at Disney Springs and then catching a bus to a park, thereby avoiding the parking fee.

It was a bit of a pain when we had to go back to our resort (Coronado Springs) and then catch a bus from there to DS. Actually one time we took the bus to POFQ and then caught the boat there to Disney Springs
Yep, and it's supposed to be for the exact reason you gave in your first post. But it wasn't so much about parking revenue as it was about the impacts on the Disney Springs area. So many people were using then DTD to avoid parking fees that people who actually wanted to go there and shop/dine had trouble finding parking hurting the businesses that operated there. Not exactly a good thing when Disney essentially operates a mall at Disney Springs.

They use to up until 2003 and then in 2013 they did a test out at Animal Kingdom which has ended..http://www.wdwmagic.com/transportat...-kingdom-and-downtown-disney-to-be-tested.htm

Is there a bus from the Transportation and Ticket Centre to Disney Springs?

No There is not..You have to take a bus from a Theme Park, To a Disney Hotel, To Disney Springs..

Parking at DS to save a few bucks in parking is a concept that I have never been able to wrap my brain around. It is so much handier to be close to your vehicle. I can't speak for others, but, when I have reached my limit for walking, and exploring a park, what I want to do is leave. I don't want to have to even take a bus to anyplace to get out of Dodge. Even when I stayed on-site, after one bus trip from POP to MK and my vehicle was in use after that. There is nothing fun about a bus ride at closing time.

You underestimate the cheapness of some people.

My college girlfriend's father would not have batted an eye at having to take 2 hours worth of bus rides to save $20.

If you want to go from a park to Disney Springs, you have a number of easier options.

You can take a bus to SSR and walk, or take a boat, to Disney Springs from there.

You could take a bus to OKW or to PO and take the boat from either of those resorts.

Not a easy as a direct bus, but better than taking a bus to a resort only to have to wait for an other bus. The boats are pretty regular, they dont get stuck in traffic.

That's true! I suppose if you are at Magic Kingdom, you could even just take the Monorail to one of the resorts and catch the bus from there.

There were about 10 of us in total not staying in Disney hotels who were expecting to easily get a bus from AK to Downtown yet had to do the hotel stop thing. I wonder how many people are put off, it's a bit of a mess on whe you've been walking round a red hot park all day. We'd have just went back to I-drive if we didn't have Cirque tickets.

What we did this last trip was take a bus from MK to POFQ and then took the boat to DS. Figured it was the quicker than going back to our resort Coronado Springs and then catching a bus from there to DS.
