Why are value resorts so expensive right now??

Because it is all about greed now. TWDC owns WDW and they have a right to price things any way they want to. I just wish they did not want to price things so high. I think Value Resorts for $50-$60 and Moderate Resorts for $90-$100 would be great price points. As for Deluxes it is almost hard to imagine staying at the Polynesian for a week like we used to do. Those days have been over for awhile.

Only half of the value resort rooms SOMETIMES share buses. You are more likely to share a bus at a deluxe...
True but for perspective, there are approximately 4665 rooms in Beach Club (Resort AND Villas), Boardwalk (Resort AND Villas), Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin. For 2 main destinations - Epcot and the Studios, buses aren't necessary, there are boats or you can walk from that area. You're also walking distance from Fantasia Gardens for your mini golf needs. And that's assuming you bundle all Epcot resorts in one bus route.

Meanwhile, there are nearly 6000 All Star rooms, nearly 2000 AoA rooms and nearly 3000 Pop rooms, and each of those resorts isn't walking distance to anywhere, so you have to always use DIsney buses or a cab or your own car or rental car. And each of those buses make multiple

You're right, for what you're paying to stay in a Deluxe, there should be no need to share resorts, but since you do, it's not much of a difference between bus services between staying at a value and an Epcot resort. YMMV may vary on any given day, of course.

Great points, Slappy. Also add in the fact that those staying at deluxe resorts may be more likely to rent a car. Not sure if there are any figures on this, but I have to imagine those staying deluxe have a larger disposable income.

Honestly, to pay $175 for one night in any value is a complete rip off. Unless you absolutely want to utilize extra magic hours for that day - it is a waste of money.

Good argument. I always stay at the values but it seems that in the first few morning hours and closing time- each value has its own bus. Usually the AK bus makes all 3 stops and even that is not a given. Now the deluxes - that is torture.

Do Pop and AoA share buses now?
