Any suggestions? It's a joke at this point. You can stay off property at 65$ a night including free breakfast and free shuttle to the parks with more amenities and at a 4 star place.
Only half of the value resort rooms SOMETIMES share buses. You are more likely to share a bus at a deluxe...Because it's Disney World I've yet to feel like the cost of a value is worth dealing with having to share buses and the noise levels I've heard report of. Not cheap enough for me to deal with. LOL
Resort rates switch form value to peak on or around February 14th. This is due to demand going up due to a number of holidays and ruining events. You chance of a promotion and the value of the ones available go down the closer you get your travel dates. So I'm trying to get just 1 night at a value this Friday night-preferably Pop Century, and it says it's $175???? In what world is this a value?? I'm seriously blown away.
Quite correct. The values tend to have the best bus service and the deluxe resorts have the worst. The big transportation advantage some of the deluxe resorts have is alternate transportation to some of the parks.Only half of the value resort rooms SOMETIMES share buses. Yeah, those ruining events just seem to, you know, ruin things.Resort rates switch form value to peak on or around February 14th. Wyndam bonnet creek or hilton grand bonnet creek, on property, best kept secret, and both blow away most of all the deluxes and the dvc's, and much less money not cheaperAny suggestions?
We enjoy the resorts too. Our last on-site trip was 8 days, only 2 in Disney parks.On-site Disney is never cheap anymore (if it ever was.) I suggest that those who want to stay on site do so for the resort itself, not the parks, to which the transportation should be viewed as a bonus, not the other way around.
For $175, I'm pretty sure you should be able to come up with a very nice room over on hotel row which also comes with bus service to/from the parks and is very convenient to DTD. I'm seeing $140 at the Wyndham, did not check any of the other 6.
I go and stay onsite for the resort, bought into DVC specifically for this and so I wouldn't break the bank with my resort addiction. Some trips we don't even touch the parks and it's even more relaxing . If I were there only for the parks I'd never pay those onsite rates. EMH isn't a selling point anymore as there are just too many folk staying on Disney property, and only one park is open for EMH at a time, so you know where everyone is headed.
You soooooo nailed it! Often the perks for staying on site, are no longer perks because it's available to so many now! I love that mindset of resorts being the reason to stay, not the parks. That if you're just needing a place to sleep...look outside the fences, especially when so many offer transportation to the parks!!On-site Disney is never cheap anymore (if it ever was.) I suggest that those who want to stay on site do so for the resort itself, not the parks, to which the transportation should be viewed as a bonus, not the other way around.
