Why Are Prices so much Lower on Other Sites??

I have my reservations made for the Wilderness Lodge for 1 week in August....the total cost for my room is about $700 more than other sites are charging for an even better room. I noticed that Expedia, Hotels.com, etc have courtyard view for $233 per night when I paid $285 per night for standard view! I did get free dining but I wanted to know if I call Disney (who I booked through) will they honor those other prices OR do they jack up the prices to make it "seem" like you're getting free dining? It is really upsetting to think I am paying so much more for a lesser room. All advice and opinions appreciated! Thanks:shrug:

Depending how many people you're going w., FD may be a better option. We just got back from our trip w. 4 adults and an infant, and TRUST ME...FREE DINING was THE way to go! I don't know if I'll go any other way from now on, it really was an amazing savings...There was almost too much food!

Best of luck and have a great time on whatever you choose

"Free" Dining isn't really free...

IMO free dining doesn't really help out at all. Does anyone else feel this way? Not only did we have to plan our whole day around our dining reservation but we also had to leave a tip on top of it! The tip costs almost as much as a counter service meal for DH and I ( depending on where we ate)! Combine that with the crowd level that free dining draws and you miss out on quite a bit! We have since learned to go in October when the crowds are low and the weather is a bit cooler. That way we can eat whenever we want at what ever park we happen to be at! We just know to budget some extra money for a few great table service dinners.

Hi Jess, And based on how your touring plans work for you, I would have definitely gone with the room discount over the Free Dining offer for you. That simply makes more sense and we can always add the Quick Service dining plan for you to allow you to tour the parks more freely without feeling tied down and still saved a bit of money with that!! The trick is to know the touring priorities of the group in question and then match the offerings to the group. I can tell you I did the Free Dining offer a few years ago and upgraded to Deluxe Dining and for the group I was with and the touring plan we had as well as the likes and dislikes of my party, it worked perfectly!!! Believe me, in this case there really is something for everyone!!! Marie

Yeah thats just how it is, like everyone has said, they charge full rack for the rooms when your under the free dining promo. Sometimes you are paying for the so called free dining, it just all depends on which resort your staying at, how many people in your party, and how long your trip will be.Me and my family are staying at a value resort, so it works for us.You should defintley sit down and compare a few things, crunch some numbers and see whats best for you and your family.
