I don't pay attention to crap like that. Who cares how someone rates you based on their mood and who ed off who? I don't know how their rating system goes and I don't care. So there...

The system is being abused... plain and simple... and ill just leave it at that...
At another (car/technology) forum I post at... they just turned off the rep. system cause it was being abused... like it is here.

Huh? Reputation points? Seriously? You've got to be kidding! I have to say that I discovered this board last month- planning my first trip to WDW. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts (I check 2x daily), but maybe I won't be much of a contributor. The point system works great for my 3 year old who gets a sticker every time he uses the toilet, but for an adult? I know, awarding drinks might work better :animwink: !
Yensidtlaw- You probably have enough people judging you that you deal with in your day-to-day life. Honey, don't worry so much about people you'll never meet. As long as you have fun, are a decent human being, and maybe even learn something along the way- you'll be just fine.

i spread some more of that pixie for alot of you guys but i'm running out like i did yesterday.
It's just the nature of the game unfortunatly. But those 'teen years are especiallly difficult. Just hang in there kiddo- and don't worry about being accepted so much, especially at a Disney site. Does this thread pertain to the WDW Park forum at all? Moderators, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this off topic, albeit a very hot off topic thread?
I have read this lengthy thread twice now looking for some pertinence to WDW Park - and can't find it.
Forgive me for just trying to spice up the traffic to the off topic section of the board. Not trying to be overly moderating, as I am just a small fry in this big wdwmagic lagoon, and enjoy reading the board several times daily.
Bring on the bad points. Anything is better than nothing. I just checked and can't find out if I have any points, so I don't think I do, yet...
I like many didn't even know about the points until this thread, so maybe this is a legit reason to have this thread in this particular area, in order to easily inform the users of this forum, Until today, I don't think I have ever clicked on User CP in my life.
Anyway, this forum is great, I enjoy all of the users, and greatly appreciate all of the contributions and answers to the questions, as they have made my visits even better.

Unless there is an actual software hack/exploit someone is using, you can't legislate the reasonings behind peoples ratings, as you cannot guess nor prove their motivations.
You can't really consider it an "abuse" to give out good points, since there is neither a reward nor a penalty in this system outside of rating priviliges increased/decreased.
This is actually one of the more impressive ratings/karma systems I have seen. You cannot rate the same people repeatedly, and there is a hard cap on how many people you can rate based on your own rating. New accounts, or those with insignifigant karma, cannot rate you either. For instance, I got three "greys" from this thread, 24 hours apart each - it's clear someone with a new account just doesn't like me (or does like me, LOL) and is voting every day when they get the chance, but their opinion isn't registered so it doesn't matter.
In the end, I say what I said in the first reply - it really doesn't matter, but even if you feel it does, there is little anyone can do to directly grief you here. Someone just may not like you, and give you negative when the system allows them to - but you really cannot do anything about that with any type of rating system the general community has access to.
If you are talking about actual hacks/exploits/code issues, you should contact the admin right away.
