This has become a yearly tradition for us. Mardi Gras comes around, the kids get out of school for the week, we head to Disney. We have 5 families going with us (Pop Century) and I know of 2 others from work that are going.

So I'm curious who's leaving Louisiana heading to Orlando? See ya real soon.

Mardi Gras has not been the same since rode in a parade Mardi Gras day through New Orleans. Never experienced anything like that (kind of hoping I never do again  ). I'm starting to get hung over thinking about it. Had alot of fun, but I really enjoy WDW and actually remember the experience the next day. :D

I have friends running TO Mardi Gras. Laissez les bons temps roulez!

In NJ, everyone leaves the state for WDW during Novemeber. NJ Teacher Convention + Veterans Days gives a full week off for us and all educators with students, or anyone with students, find this a great opportunity to head down to Disney. Lots of NJ teachers that week!!

I wish I could be at wdw during mardi gras, but unfortunatley I'll be working in new orleans everyday leading up to fat tuesday. To be honest drunken crowds aren't my thing. By the way, how busy are the parks during this time of the year?

I was thinking about heading down to work a few days. I then found out that a few of my friends from FL are coming to Mardi Gras, so I have to show them the "sights". :D

Our last trip in November we found this out. Couldn't get over the crowds. Had a really good time with them. There were many more folks there the first week of value season than were there for the last week of regular season in October. Hope they have a good time.

Oh man... I WISH I could run away from Carnaval to Disney! Nah, I'm bunking at Julia's with my GameCube and 10,000 DVDs. Of course there's a slight 70% possibility that I may have to work, so if that happens there's no escape, I'll have to endure the fireworks and the screaming and the parades... :hurl: :brick: :fork:

Y'all can wave at me in Saint Charles parish! We are afraid to try to go for Mardi Gras; Don's cousin said she would never go again for Mardi Gras. We are heading to Metairie on Fat Tuesday, and it looks like we will get wet:( . Alot of people here though are headed your way to Gheens for Fat Tuesday.

Our worst crowds were when Mardi Gras feel the day after Presidents Day. Other than that the crowds have been lite.

We will be sure to wave, leaving around 8 Friday night, picking up some folks in Waggaman, then Gretna and heading out.

We had a bad experience with Presidents day but other than that its been great.

You may have to check out the Choupic parade on Mardi Gras day, 3 floats.

We have 'Carnaval' parades here too and I want to go see them on my Raggedy Ann costume, but none of my friends wants to endure the crowds... :( However, my favorite parade is on Monday night, when everybody dresses with the typical white dress from my part of the country and dance typical dances from the Yucatan Peninsula. :)

I understand running away from Mardi Gras parades... the streets sadly become a huge 'cantina' (not as big as N.O. and Brazil, of course, thank God!) :animwink:
