What does washing tangerines before sacking them have to do with their longevity?

Masters of the Universe. AKA "The Cheesy 80s Fantasy Movie that Starred Dolph Lundgren, Ripped Off John Williams' Superman Theme and Borrowed Liberally From Return of the Jedi's Sound Library". :P

The best thing about that movie was that Frank Langella turned Skeletor into an actual villain. In the cartoons he was a whining failure two shades away from being Dark Helmet.

Because citrus is washed in jets of extremely hot water to kill bacteria and mold spores (as per USDA/FDA regulations), then is put through coat of wax spray to keep it fresher longer. :p

Bill Nye...was apparently never privy to such treatments.
