As smw pointed out it stands for Team Disney Orlando. Essentially they are the management team for WDW. They make pretty much every decision regarding the operation, maintenance, expansion, etc of WDW.

I thought it stood for The Dummies in Orlando.

Anyways, here's a picture of the heads of TDO:

and we hate 'em.

Maybe you hate them, but I personally don't even know them. Hate seems like a really strong word for this circumstance. Its one thing to disagree with the decisions they've made but to hate these people makes you sound just a little bit crazy.

TDO = the devil to 95% of folks on here

I think the % is really a lot lower than that. There is a vocal minority who feel that way. I think most people really don't pay that much attention and just enjoy the parks.

Ayup. I believe that this statement reflects a great deal of truth. Call it fanboyism, pixie dust, complacency, or any other derogatory term used for the sake of belittlement; the fact stands that a great many people still enjoy the parks. There is a wide line separating enjoyment and quality obsession. I personally try to stay on the side of enjoyment. Having attended the Parks countless times over the past two decades, I have indeed noticed changes in quality. Enough to obsess to the point of purposely looking for faults, or analyzing rather than being entertained? Hardly. When it is no longer MAGICal, I shall spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Until that point, I shall attempt to enjoy without hatred. Plus, you know, the free car wash thing mentioned previously.

Exactly! We've been unhappy with the counter service food offering over the past 5 or 6 years- rather than complaining and obsessing about it here we hop in our rental car between parks and eat off property. We have a problem with the low quality food and speak with our $.

I'm with you, but honestly, if you're someone who has a great passion for WDW, you can't help but be annoyed with TDO. Take a ride on Splash Mountain. Or, visit June 1 when they've closed yet another classic attraction for nothing more than a meet and greet. Or take a spin on Soarin' and see how disgusting the picture is. Those are the reasons TDO is vilified so much around here.

Then speak with your wallet and don't go and communicate your issues with the company.

If someone continues to purchase a product they are unhappy with, then the fault is with the consumer not the company.

Believe me, I know. It's just that sometimes the levels of intensity and obsession around here keep me away for periods of time (well, that and my real life).

I feel like there is a fine line between passion and obsession, the vocal minority is beginning to come across as obsessive in a very unhealthy way.

Please don't get me started on the quality of food. I have taken my own in order to avoid the counter service offerings. But, again, speaking with one's wallet (or purse, if you will) is the best reaction to an unpleasant experience.

Think for yourselfer

Fair enough point.

However, talking about it on a message board, and speaking with your wallet do not have to be mutually exclusive of one another. Sometimes it is nice to vent. Especially for someone who has spent the majority of their vacation time and dollars on WDW.

Everyone who is THAT disatisfied just stay home and spend your time writing complaint letters. You will be doing something more productive then just complaining here. This will also help shorten the wait time in lines and with fewer people ordering food, the cooks will have more time to spend on the qaulity and presentation. :) Problem solved! :)

Many of us have to varying degrees. To some of us (myself included) this means not going anymore, not renewing APs, and planning future trips elsewhere (non Disney trips, or DCL, DL Trips). Others spend less in the parks, buy less merchandise, don't visit as often, or don't spend as long as they used to in the parks.

The thing is people seem to think that being vocal against TDO means that we should completely boycott TDO. While it works for me (I have plenty going on right now anyway to be heading over to Orlando every weekend like I used to), it doesn't have to be that way, and it's hard to be that way when you love the brand as much as some of us do. So being vocal on boards or in the parks or writing letters expressing dissatisfactions works as well. It might not have the same impact as stopping all together, but it does have an impact. Disney reads each and every one of these threads we write (I bet they have a Bot programed to look at these websites for use of the phrase "TDO".)

I feel like there is a fine line between passion and obsession, the vocal minority is beginning to come across as obsessive in a very unhealthy way.

I do not agree with your view. I think that aside from a few stray anti-TDO people and the misrepresentation of sarcasm on the internet, the "vocal minority" isn't at all unhealthy. And it's growing.

If you love something, it's OK to be critical.
