has anyone been to the "Who wants to be a millionaire?" attraction at MGM? If so, fill me in on how it was! I am a big fan of the show and wanted to know if this was worth going to!
Thanks!

It's definitely worth going! The stage is an exact replica of the TV show... in fact, episodes have been (and I believe sometimes still are) taped there! It's like you're actually in the audience, it's very accurately portrayed. The only differences here are the slightly modified rules (allows for more audience participation), and the slightly more humorous, Disney-fied tone of the presentation (only slightly, though). And of course, there's no $million- but still cool prizes! The host when I was there was VERY good. It's a must-see for any fans of the show.

Also, it's nice and cool inside, so it's a perfect get-away during hot weather (just like One Man's Dream beside it).

The only problem is that it's on east-MGM, which is significantly more bustling than west-MGM, so everything there tends to be a bit more crowded. It's a Fast Pass attraction, though.

Another thing that sucks about it....

Whenever the correct answer pops up the whole audience starts pushing the button over and over, and all those buttons pushing at once makes a loud noise, so basically it gives away the answer to everyone.

But it's still really fun! I made it on the leaderboard when we went!

Yeah, but if you have time to process the sound of the clicking before you make it your answer, then you've already lost

For some reason we didn't go to this when we were there...We also missed one man's dream, still kicking myself for that one :(

In multiple games, I came in SECOND on the leaderboard... A few times in a few games...

SECOND...

But alas, I did not make it to the Hot Seat.

I think it's worth your time, just to check it out, if you're going to be at the Disney-MGM Studios® Park. :)

I'm very happy to say that it's totally worth it and I am living proof that anyone has a chance to make it into the "hot seat"! When my family went last year I actually made it! The only problem was, I was the last contestant and I swear I think they made the questions harder for me so I'd lose because the time for the show was almost up. I got out on the $16,000 dollar question and it was totally harder than most $16,000 questions. It was about the Medici family in Italy or something... But it was still TONS of fun! I got a cool hat and a lanyard with pins!

The last time we went (alas, I didn't make it to the hot seat :( ) it was really funny because a woman got into the hot seat first, then when she lost, her 12 year old son was the leader on the scoreboard so he got to go! I though was quite a coincidence and I'm sure that made their trip even more memorable:) It was definitely worth it and everybody should go by and play it!

Definitely worth it! I went in not knowing what it was and was very pleasently surprised how close to the show it was. I thought the *million dollar prize* (cruise) was a joke and the girl sitting next to me told me it was all for real. Never made it to the hot seat though. I wanted to go back before we left but didn't have a chance..hopefully it's still there when we return. Oh and the host is good, the epitamy *sp* of a fake tv game show host IMO. Have fun, good luck!

I made it to the hot seat thru the leaderboard. It was great. I only made it to $8000 because I didn't know who directed Princess Diaries and the 66% of the audience gave me the wrong answer. I got some pins, a hat, a lanyard, and a lot of great memories.

Look for the 'Hidden Mickey' when the Stage Manager starts the light check. You'll see it across from your seat high up on the wall. It's 3 pools of light that form a hidden mickey.

Its great fun.
I've been in the hot seat 3 times.
Twice I missed the million point question, once the half million.
:brick:

Eh, still fun...and I can sell the excess loot on ebay.

My 3rd favorite ride at MGM only behind Tower of Terror and RocknRollercoaster! There are only three life lines, unlike the new 5 they have. It's hands down better than the show! It has the fog, it has the lights, it has even the cool music! I recomend going to the first showings, since many people go to this show after they get out of work. I remeber when it first opened that they had litterally about 50 people who go EVERY DAY after work, then they stopped it by implementing a new 'if-you-win-the-million-you-have-to-wait' thingie. Overall, still a great show and ride.

Here's a tip for avoiding the line: Try going into the building through the exit doors! You may get to sit in the stage level seats (the ones the contestants sit in on the show)!

My wife and I did this accidentally on our honeymoon. We apologized to the Cast Member "on guard" and walked back out. Not 10 seconds later, the CM caught up with us and told us we'd have special seats. The only catch: we had to wear the bride and groom mouse ears we were sporting on stage.

Five minutes later, a group of us were escorted onto the stage through the rear of the set.

It turned out that everyone in the audience gets to play, not just the people on the stage, so that took a little of the pressure off -- I hadn't really wanted to win the fastest finger and end up in the hot seat!

Left as a $32,000 winner. Received the hat, the polo shirt, and the ten pins. Each pin is the prize/amount (100, 200, 8,000, etc). Bad thing is the shirt and cap are purple and grey. Not my colors. It's just like the show.

I agree. This is a great attraction. The fact that they give away an incredible prize is one of the things that separates Disney from your average theme park.

A lot of fun

Yes, I concur. Great attraction, even for those not fans of the actual TV show.

I made it to the hotseat for the first time after being on the leaderboard, including first place at the end of the show, so many times before. Lost the 125000 point question. Didn't know what "bricolage" meant.

Hopefully, when you go you'll get Kevin as the host. He's hilarious!

The pre-show film with Regis is no longer being shown, by the way.

Never been to the hotseat, though have been on the leaderboard in 4th place a couple of times. We have been choosen twice to sit in the seats on the floor. As the people are coming in they pick you and you go to the back of the waiting area and then are taken in early. If you get picked ask the cm to take a picture of you. we did and they were more than happy to do it.

I am totally addicted to the Millionaire game at the park. First time I went at least four times in one day and since it was the day we were leaving I could not go anymore. Believe I would have gone again. It is one of my must do's. Does not have to be the first thing as long as I get to do it at least twice when I am there.
