Who killed Jessus

Alright sorry to post this but lately I have been getting alot of crap for being jewish because of that new Mel Gibson flick. I havent seen the movie but I guess they blame jews for the death of jessus. This has been bumming me out because people look at me differently now because my family is jewish, even though I dont believe in religon.

I have been in many arguements with people who swear that jews killed jessus. They say the bible clearly says this. I have never read the bible. Why would jews kill the person they were following, why would they kill a fellow jew. It doesn't make any sense I believe it was the romans who caused the death of him.

Please post intelligent remarks not something like yea you jew you killed him.

Hun, you need to read the Bible first... all the answers you are looking for are there. The Passion of the Christ only tells the last hours of it, so if you haven´t read about it, I would suggest you to read the Bible and then make your own conclusions. :wave:

....and well... in those times, it was His own people who didn´t recognize him and denied his existance.

No I don't want my answers from the bible. The bible is biased on christans point of view id rather have a historical point of view, so its not making one side seem right

BTW, if you don´t know where to look for in the Bible, go to the book of Marc or Matthew - I am not sure who, but one of them has a very good explanation of The Passion. Or simply read any of the books of these four Apostles, Marc, Luke (Lucas?), John or Matthew. They tell the story of Jesus.

Christians believe Jesus is Lord & Saviour, the Jews do not.
While the Romans were in charge, the Jews of the time wanted Jesus gone because he did not follow their teachings, per se, even though he was jewish. To this day we fear those who are different & espouse teachings different than our own. I do not hate Jews because of this, it was a very long time ago.(just as I don't hate our forefathers for owning slaves...times were different). I try to live in the here & now. I treat people the way I would like to be treated...I judge them for who they are inside & how they treat me without regard to race, religion or any lifestyle they choose.

This probably won't help very much but, the furor over this movie will die down eventually & life will go on. :wave:

Well... all I know is that the Bible is the book that narrates that kind of history, and I thought that was for all people who believe in this same God. I am not sure which book the Jews follow, so maybe you should read that one then.

There are many books written on this subject maybe you should take a trip to the bookstore. The Jews & Christians share the Old Testament so it is the New Testament you do not care for. I really don't think we can change your views. (nor should we try )

We read the Torah. Jessus is never mentioned in there and we just think he was a jew that started a new cult. Also jessus was just another man that the Romans crucified he did not go through any other punishment than a normal criminal. They cruicified everyone and all that other toture talked about.
