Speaking of the Macy's Day parade...

I'm assuming nobody that has posted on this thread listens to Opie and Anthony :lookaroun

Today is "Make Stuff Up Tuesday" and...well, let's just say that they made up a doosy today.

A new balloon is stirring up a frenzy this year...because it's a balloon of a very UNLIKED man...and they said it was to promote Tom Cruise's new movie "Valkyrie"

They make it sound believable week after week. Needless to say, it would never happen.

It is usually on in the background but I don't really watch it...now the Rose Bowl parade I watch every second of.

I absolutely LOVE the Rose Parade!! I watch the Macy's parade, but I get irritated sometimes when all they show is the entertainment, and the hosts talking while the floats go by in the background. I want to see the PARADE, not Donnie Osmond lip-syncing White Christmas......

Being an engineer and a somewhat creative type I love the floats. I absolutely adore hearing all the details about how they were designed and built. Having the 501 st march in the parade last year did not hurt either.

Count me in as another parade fan. It's not really the Holidays yet until I see a giant balloon floating past skyscrapers.

Yes the floats are absolutely amazing, but it's all the equine units that reel me in. Can't take the farm out of the girl.....

I remember as a kid the parade being the best thing ever. I remember all of the cool floats and performances. I still watch every year, but I feel its not as good as it used to be. The balloons aren't flown as high as they used to for safety. Its not the same.

On a similar yet unrelated note: At Universal Studios during the holidays they have the Macy's parade and look for park goers as volunteers to pilot the balloons. Last year some friend of mine and I got to pilot a balloon and had a blast.
