Hi guys,

I checked the Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2 Movie on IMDB it is Pre-production.
It will soon be released in 2022.

Here is the link.

It is not being released in 2022. The movie has started pre-production many times but every time it stalls out in development hell.

The Walt Disney Company owns ImageMovers. Robert Zemickis is the director and interested in doing a sequel.
No, ImageMovers is Robert Zemeckis‘ production company. ImagineMovers Digital was a joint venture between Disney and ImageMovers that was shut down.

He doesn’t get it.
Clearly, but why would anyone want a Roger Rabbit sequel today?

It can’t star Bob Hoskins, include Jessica Rabbit as the original, and would only show a mashup of characters from Disney’s own IPs (which we already got, to mixed response, with Ralph Breaks the Internet).

The first film is the definition of lightning in a bottle - multiple studios working together for a singular project, using filmmaking techniques far ahead of its own technology, and a great cast of live and anomated characters. I know the mantra is supposed to be never say never, but you will never top Bob Hoskins and Christopher Lloyd.

On top of that, the first film was incredibly intelligent about not making Roger Rabbit the lead character, because that character has an incredibly high potential to be a grating nuisance. Without the original live actors, I can almost guarantee that character will be forced into the spotlight, and live characters will support him and the other animated characters. That is a big mistake.

All good points. RR was a great movie that will not be getting a sequel.
