Who else is bothered by the local schools that take Field Trips to the Parks?

The majority of them do not bother me but its just the few that do crazy, immature things in the parks. Last year a girl started to rub and dance (inappropriately) on the bead door in Rockin' Roller Coaster and I just wanted to tell her, "When I'm at Disney World I'm 5 years old again and... your ruining my Disney experience." haha. Is their anyone else here who's child hood illusion at Disney is destroyed by rude teenagers from local schools?

I am not so much although I am very bothered by the fact that as a child I never went on a field trip to WDW!

Actuall the thing that bothers me is that the students teachers and chaperons do not control them better, its either that or the parent have not tought their children better manners.
On a recent trip my group and I were exiting Space Mt. and this large group of children and their chaperons were all just sitting on the moving walkway and as I am sure you can imagine the walkway was getting very backed up and we were only half way out of the building. Well the couple in front of us were getting very annoyed (overheard them talking) and finally said something to the adults among the group. The chaperons looked back and noticed that there was a line of other very annoyed people including my party and finally said something to the children, though they only moved to the side didn't even think to start walking ahead. As the first couple went by the children decided to start mocking and yelling at the couple as the passed thats when We took the opportunity to follow their lead and bolt while we had the chance as we passed we also were scoffed at by the children and the adults didn't say or do anything.
Honestly it was very rude! Some of those people forced to be stuck may have had a ADR's or were trying to meet up with their party and this group didn't seem to have any consideration for anyone but themselves.

You should have went and told a character at the park (Mickey, Goofy, Donald, etc.) and watched to see how they would persuade all the rude teenagers to move haha.

I hate groups of teenagers on school trips at the parks. The group mentality takes over and is especially bad when with school friends and no parents around. They are loud and rude. And most of them should be more worried about learning to read, add and subtract than going to Disney.

Thats why I usually go to Disney World during the School year so all those teenagers are in school instead of on Summer Field Trips. During September and August is THE BEST; its cool, their are only true Disney-Lovers there haha, and the lines are as short as can be.

The worst ones are largely unsupervised- WDW needs to start penalizing chaperones who ignore their cheer/dance/school kids. And no, wedgies & swirlies aren't going to be enough punishment for that blatant lazy disregard for their duties.

Weeeell....

Many moons ago (I think it was 1989-ish) I was a student at Lake Howell High in Winter Park. In 9th or 10th grade, every year the entire grade went on a field trip to Epcot. Just to give you an idea of how many kids we're talking about, my brother's graduating class from Lake Howell in '90 was over 500. Can't remember when exactly during the year it was...it's been a bit over 20 years ago. I do know it was during the cooler months because I remember my little group of girlfriends coordinating our outfits and we all opted for long sleeve striped mock turtlenecks from The Gap. Yes, these are the things that were most important at that time. LOL! I suspect it was after the Christmas break but before Spring Break. I have no idea if they still do this or not. We were brought to the bus area, shuffled to the group entrance gate, admitted, then set free with instructions where to meet back at the bus area for our ride home in the evening. I do know we left rather late because it was weird having our parents pick us up at school soooo late at night. During the day we had a sheet with questions we had to find the answers to. I forget the questions but they weren't hard. Most of us had older siblings who already did this field trip in years previous and gave us the answers from theirs. We all just filled in the blanks on the bus on the way there. We were left to roam the park at-will. No supervision. Just had to check back with our assigned teacher at the bus at the end of the night so we'd be accounted for as we got onto our bus. I think I ran around with a group of maybe 3 or 4 girls. I don't recall us doing anything really crazy, no screaming or carrying on or anything. In '89 there weren't any "thrill" rides to speak of at Epcot. No M:S, TT, or Soarin'. We just roamed and had fun. Now trips with my older more-daring/mischievous brothers when I was in middle school were the ones where I know we were a small bunch of hooligans running around.

Field trips to Sea World in middle school and younger grades were in small groups with parent chaperones. Those were fun. Of course we all hoped to get assigned to the "cool" moms & dads but it was all fun in the end. Definitely a perk growing up in Central Florida was the really awesome field trip destination options. We had a lot of fun!

I guess the running-free crazy teens can also be attributed to the differences in the way kids behave these days vs. when I was a teen. I would never have done some of the things I hear about. First & foremost, it never crossed my mind to. Why? Because from the time I was little it was ingrained into my brain that acting that way would get me in a lot of trouble with my folks...my butt torn up, my favorite stuff taken away, grounded, and punished with all sorts of pleasantries like scrubbing floors by hand, solo kitchen duty for our big family for long periods of time, etc.

FYI, I believe at the beginning of September is generally when Walt Disney World holds their Homeschool Days. Also, throughout the year there are ongoing offerings via open enrollment opportunities for homeschoolers and homeschool groups via the Y.E.S. Program. There's never a time when there aren't going to be students in some form or fashion there.

Also, see my previous post. Local schools take field trips to the Disney parks throughout the school year.

Well I'll rephrase, I meant to say that their are not many students there during September and August so the atmosphere is a lot more "Disney-ish" instead of seeing kids bothering others and acting inappropriately.

No problem. Just don't want anyone to show up and be disappointed by the groups there for Homeschool Days. ;) In general homeschool organizations differ a lot from traditional school so you don't see a lot of the same issues. But, when there's groups of kids there's always the possibility of some acting up. Also, the events associated with homeschool students are put on by Disney's educational programs. When you see a group (I know I've seen them a few times) they are with a Y.E.S. CM or two depending on the number of students. I don't think these groups are the problematic ones because they are escorted and participating in a Disney program. Correct? :)

This very year I was apart of a rowdy teenage group on a field trip, we actually went the same time as the annual cheerleader visit. I spent 2 days in park and another day at DTD. DTD was easy since I only went with a group of about 4 others. The next day at MK I split from my regular group and went with 2 other guys and we pretty much did anything we wanted in the park, the next day I was with about 7 others when we hit up Epcot and it wasn't easy moving around.

But forget that, being "one of them" I can guarantee you that I know a handful of teens that fit your complaint card. Luckily, I avoided anyone outside my group and barely ran into anyone I knew (not intentionally, it was just a big park.) I haven't seen obnoxious behavior but rest assured I know it's happened.

So sorry if it happens, but please don't report snot nosed kids to Town Hall! It ruins the magic for us that want to be there!

Haha I never planned on reporting anyone and its not THAT big of a deal its just a little pet peeve of mine. A couple of years ago I was in line with my brother for Splash Mountain and we were currently going down the little cave part leading in from all those stairs; and this teenager guy decides to just fart and everyone thinks its hilarious but its the middle of the summer in this crowded cave haha. Saying it smelt terrible would be a major understatement.

If they act like people I could careless. I went on several Field Trips to Busch Williamsburg and King's Dominion as did most of my family. Same concept, differentiating scenario. No big deal. Just behave.

No different than an SBD after eating Trail's End or something.

Kids are kids, and as long as they're acting within the norms of civilized people, I have no issues.

Adults, on the other hand......

Agree 100%. Unfortunetly, there always seems to be a bad bunch among the good...
