Which value resort you like better and Why!

As a family of 6 and as a couple we've stayed at all of the Value resorts. Neither one will dissapoint; plenty of Disney Magic all around. The biggest difference seems to be transportation. Pools are smaller but more plentiful at All Stars. Food courts are smaller at All Stars. Biggest advantage to Pop Century is that there's only one bus stop. You pretty much know what you're up against when you size up the line. At All Stars (depending on which theme you're staying at) you could be the first pickup or the last. Many times we walked up to the bus stop and there were only a handful of people ahead of us. But the bus shows up and it's already full from picking up people at previous stops- not fun. If you have a car on your vacation, I suppose this is a non-issue. Another, small difference is the tax rate. The two complexes are actually in different counties. If you need multiple rooms or staying for a week or so taxes can add up. Pop Century will be cheaper overall even though the room rates are the same. Rooms are exactly the same and constant refurbs make sure that furnishings always seem "fresh".

I am going to go with POP as well. The food court is wonderful and as the previous poster mentioned the bus service is excellent. Having only one bus stop allows you to estimate how many buses it will take for you to get to your desired park because the buses will always pull up empty. I am slightly biased though since I have only stayed at Pop.

Pop gets my vote. The fact that they do not share a bus with another resort, the food court is set up very well and my number 1 reason...

The 63 split window sitting near the 60's building. It's my dream car.

I'm a fan of Pop Century as well. I love the theming. The last time we went there, we stayed in the 90s, and my whole family loved walking out from under the giant laptop every morning and passing by the massive cell phones. Ah, reminds me of the old days when cell phones really were nearly that big!

Definitely a fan of Pop over the all stars. The buses are easier to manage, the resort is newer, and it is in a more central location which makes it easier to get places.

I voted for Pop Century. However, we have never stayed at a value resort so I have no practical reason for prefering it, such as busses, food court, etc.

Since we have never stayed at a value resort, the only thing that I can base my vote on is the theming. I'm not big into Sports or Music (at least music as a theme...I do like music, I suppose), so it's between movies and Pop. But, although my wife and I find them all tacky, I would still prefer a giant jukebox and bowling pin over a giant Woody, Dalmatian and whatever other stupid giant icons they have at movies. And just the general theme of pop culture fads of the various decades, I find to be more interesting than movies...at least the movies that Disney has chosen to feature in the theming of the movies resort.

I've only stayed at Music so far, but I did like the theming, as I am a music fan. It was nice walking through the buildings hearing the different themed music.

I've stayed at ASMovies and Pop. Unlike almost everyone else here, I wasn't thrilled with Pop. I thought it was too big, and I didn't like the theming nearly as much as I like the theming at ASMovies. I also hated that Pop was the last bus stop at several of the Parks - having to walk past several EMPTY bus stops to get to the Pop one at MK was a major irritant to me each and every time. Maybe I was lucky, but I didn't have a huge issue with the buses at ASMovies - sure they made multiple stops at all of the All Stars alot of times, but we got seats just as often as I did with Pop.

I told my daughter she gets to pick the hotel for the August trip we are now planning, as long as it wasn't Pop. She's picked ASSports. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to Movies.

Having stayed at all four values, I'm surprised All-Star Music is seemingly taking a pummeling here, as it IS the least-crowded of the values, had the new rooms done first, had nightly pool entertainment last Summer, and often has its own buses whilst Sports and Movies share. Besides, the guitar-shaped pool is much better than the Fantasia shapeless lake, the Surfing shapeless lake and the small flower shaped pool (Hippy Dippy!) at Pop.

All-Star Music FTW!
