For me it’s closer than it should be between Avatar and Coco. DCA could really use a charming D ticket dark ride and Coco is a great IP for one. And it’s a boat ride. My mind knows Avatar will most likely be the better attraction but I’m kind of more intrigued with Coco because I don’t know what to expect and of all the additions feels most like Classic Disney IP. For this reason I’m still undecided…

I went with Avatar as being intrigued due to lack of information shouldn’t really count as anticipation but I’m conflicted.

I’m sure Avatar will be the far grander attraction, but I’m kinda more interested in seeing how the Lost Boys Neverland attraction does as an Avengers ride. Will it top the IOA Spider-Man at essentially the same game?

It’s also happening sooner.

Hmmm this is why I was conflicted because if i was going by this kind of reasoning I would have chosen Coco. Just seems counterintuitive though when you know that Avatar will probably blow the other two attractions away. And yet here I am more interested in discussing Coco as I am intrigued by the possibilities.

I think they might all end up being E-tickets. Avatar will be the most impressive from a technological standpoint and has Cameron's involvement. Avengers has to deliver because fans have been waiting years for it. Coco is one of the newer IPs that Disney uses a lot so I think they want to keep that going. We will have a better idea once we know where the attraction is going.

Coco. While Avatar and Avengers will likely be more impressive technologically, Coco could be something super special if done right. It’s the perfect IP for a future classic attraction, and just imagining some sort of drop into the land of the dead has me so excited. It also being my favorite movie from Disney/Pixar from the last decade definitely helps my decision as well.

I feel like I went with my head instead of my heart for my vote.

To be fair, unless something crazy happens, Avatar will be the one with the greatest wow factor with the rumored Shanghai pirates technology and then Cameron’s involvement. That definitely made me pause and rethink my answer for a minute.

Oh for sure. There is almost no chance it won’t be the far superior ride of the 3 and yet between all the concept art and Shanghai POTC I’m able to visualize what Avatar will be like where Coco is a bit more of a mystery and intriguing. But then again so was MMRR and that ended up disappointing me. If the question was “Which ride will end up being the best?” I think the answer would clearly be Avatar but the question as stated makes it a little more interesting.

Avatar. It'll (presumably) have a gigantic budget and join Rise and RSR as one of the resort's flagship modern attractions. Shanghai's Pirates is somewhere around 8 minutes long and looks like a masterpiece; if DCA's Avatar is similar, it'll be a game-changer for DCA.

I'm less confident Disney will invest sufficiently in the Coco boat ride. I have no evidence for this suspicion, I'm just cynical. On paper, a Coco boat ride would be the most exciting of these forthcoming attractions for me -- especially if it's long, filled with AAs, features a small drop, and (as promised at D23) takes some design and storytelling cues from Disneyland's Pirates. In reality however, I'm expecting something more along the lines of DisneySea's Tangled boat ride; not bad by any means, perfectly competent -- but predictable, safe, and forgettable.

Marvel is not interesting to me (no offense to anyone who enjoys it) so the Avengers attraction ranks last. However, I'm very eager to see Avengers Campus grow into a proper land, so I'll be glad to see these 2 attractions finally open.

I am excited to find out how many people in my family it makes sick. 😋

I’m most excited for the Avengers main ride (though I still wish it was a coaster)…I am genuinely baffled they are giving Shanghai Pirates tech to Avatar and Peter Pan ride tech to Avengers. I was just on Shanghai Pirates again last month and it seems perfectly suited for epic superhero battles (with a few animatronics scattered through out)…hard for me to imagine what they are planning to do with an Avatar storyline, but I guess I’ll find out.

2 of the 3 IPs do nothing for me, but if they all get built it will make DCA a much better park (and shorten the lines for my favorite rides there) so I’ll just be happy if there are actually 4 fun new rides built (without taking away any existing rides) at DCA by the end of the decade, even if I don’t personally think I’ll want to ride them often.

Honestly Coco and I think I'm more excited for it precisely because there's so much we don't know about it. It's a big mystery that could go so many different directions, and many of those directions are exciting.

Although DCA's Avatar land isn't going to be the same as the one at Animal Kingdom, the fact that the one in Florida exists is enough proof to us that they know what they're doing with that IP and that they know how make something really large scale and beautiful out of it.

It's no doubt going to be incredible. We know it's going to be stunning. But with us knowing that, there is very little mystery with it, very little to really sit down and think hard on and debate over. Coco's got that mystique to it right now.

As a whole, I think the Avatar land will be gorgeous, and I'm excited to feel the awe of the mountainscapes. As an individual attraction, probably Coco.

Coco is the most unique of the three. There is a lot that could be done there. Avengers is just screens with a motion base like Transformers. Avatar we've seen before but hopefully more entertaining.

Coco if it will have a small drop to go along with it. Otherwise…none.

Why small though? Give us a POTC size drop Disney. The first drop. That’s one is pretty decent. From what I understand it’s biggest drop on any of the POTC attractions worldwide?

You basically said what I would have said. Thanks for writing it for me! 😆

To add my 2 cents....

Avengers was never going to be top....or even second. I simply have no interest in screen-based attractions. I'll probably ride it as often as I ride Web Slingers....which so far has been once.

I want Coco to be the top, but I've always felt in the back of my mind that it is going to be at Tangled level......hence why I said earlier that I believe it will be a C-Ticket.

I think if Avatar can take Shanghai Pirates to the next level it will be a force to be reckoned with in the entire park.....especially if it is accompanied by a great looking land.

Predictable, safe and forgettable is a great way to put it. They need to stop shying away from the mysterious, weird, “scary”, macabre stuff. Not even on the retheme of the ride with a 50 foot drop did any of that make the cut. Those notes are lacking on many of the newer rides. Not every attraction has or needs these elements but it’s counterintuitive and disappointing to remove them from rides based on IP that have them. Coco will be a great test as the IP has everything to make a fun, adventurous and whimsical ride. Will they play it safe or will they get a little “weird” with it? I’d like to think it’s the latter since they re making comparisons to HM/ POTC. Which is exactly where their minds should be for this attraction.
