Which the best Long House at the Polynesian?

Okay, I have booked the Polynesian for our upcoming Disney vacation in August.

My son is now in full planning mode (he takes after his dad I guess) and he has been exploring the Polynesian resort in great detail. (A huge thank you to Tikiman for his excellent website).

I know you can't reserve a longhouse but, in the past we have requested a general area (i.e. Contemporary South Garden Wing facing Bay lake).

I know Tonga is suites and Hawaii is club level. So what's your opinion. Which is the best long house?

It depends on what you want to be close to. Some people want to be as close as possible to the Great Ceremonial House, some want to be close to the pool, some want to be close to the TCC, etc.
But really, the resort is not as big as it seems when you look at a map. It is not a big deal to walk across the resort...in fact, it is very pleasant because the grounds are so beautiful!

On our last trip, we chose Tokelau for several reasons. We liked its central location. We were about equal distance from the Grand Cermonial House and the TCC. Also, it had undergone one of the more recent renovations, and the rooms are a bit larger than some of the other longhouses. We loved it, and will request it again on future trips. However, our upcoming trip is very short because we are only going for Star Wars Weekends, so we requested the Fiji Longhouse because we like that area of the resort. We will not be going to Epcot, so there is no need for us to be close to the TCC on this trip.

However, if money were no option we would get a MK view in the Hawaii Longhouse!

We love Rarotonga.

It has some great pool and other longhouse views.
Also, it is located right next to the main building, which has food, shops, and the entrance to the monorail.
Perfect for coming back from long, tiring days at the park! No long walk back to the room and you can easily grab some food on the way.

Tahiti for us

We just stayed in the Tahiti bldg in March and loved it. We appreciated being close to TTC. It was also quiet except for the family right next to us who were raised in a barn. :)

We have stayed at the Poly the past 3 visits and our 4th in this July. We have stayed in Samoa, Hawaii and Rarotonga. Samoa was great b/c we had a balcony that overlooked the main pool. My twin sons, who were 1 1/2 at the time loved standing on the balcony and watching all the people. Plus it was really close to the Ceremonial House. Our next trip we stayed at Hawaii. We had originally asked for Samoa again but they could not fulfill our request so they upgraded us to Hawaii which is a concierge suite. Free breakfast in the morning, free snacks around lunch time, free finger food around dinner, free drinks and unknown to us until our second to last day there, free alcohol!!! Our third trip we stayed in Rarotonga. We stayed on the side closest to the ceremonial house. We had a balcony that was basically surrounded by vegetation but you could still see the monorail go by, which my sons loved. Any longhouse you stay in would be great but if you can afford the upgrade to concierge, i recommend it. We do not see the worth in it ourselves but will always take the free upgrades. Just remember the closer to the ceremonial house you get the easier it is. When you go to epcot, from any longhouse, it is only maybe a 10 to 15 min walk to the TTC.
