Which set scenes are sacred at Storybook Land? What would you like to see?

It is charming but it does take up a lot of space for little models. It needs new effects, newer movie ips, animation. Would the average Disneyland guest care if it was gone? Others around here would chain themselves to the canal boats. Paris's version is nice but still too static.

Where is OZ?

OZ? What does that stand for? Australia? For Bluey representation?

I could just imagine the reactions here if they added Endor and New York to Storybook Land. That would be a huge monkey’s paw.

I'm not sure of Storybook really should stay. I know it is a fan favorite and it's removal would cause people to have conniptions but riding in a boat looking at miniatures feels really dated. Too bad there isn't any animation or some special effects in the cave. I would like to see Disney characters (in scale) roaming around the buildings. Something similar to the Legoland buildings. I wouldn't mind seeing it and Casey Jr. disappear entirely for something completely new.

California's Legoland literally has a boat ride that also goes amont the miniatures in addition to the walking paths. You can have it both ways.

And having done the walkthrough version of Storybook (Fairy Tale Forest) in Hong Kong? While very charming by modern Disney standards, it doesn't have a patch on Storybook.

It doesn't take up that much space in the grand scheme of things, especially for modern Disney, and it's surrounded on all sides by park pathways, Dumbo, and backstage. There's not all that much to be gained form its removal, and you would almost certainly lose the capacity (granted, not that much) from Casey Junior too. I also think watching those little boats go into Monstro is one of Disneyland's iconic sites.

Oz like Wizard of Oz.

The last scene (or at least, it was the last scene, I think they've announced incoming updates that might change this) in the Paris version of Storybook is based on Return to Oz, complete with music that was once part of MSEP.

Again, imagine if you get new scenes… but they’re Marvel & Star Wars stuff. That would be a change even I would disagree with.

From a clinical (modern Disney Imagineering) point of view, a nice size Frozen land or BatB land with ride could take over both the Storybook land and the Fantasyland theater. The 7 Dwarf's Mine Coaster and a few other things could go there. There is much more land than in the old motorboat cruise area. Knowing modern Disney, if Fantasyland theater went away, I think Storybook/Casey Jr would go with it.

Well we know Imagineering doesn't read this site so I don't think we have to worry.
Yeah, as if we won’t get the Battle of Yavin, the Battle of New York, the Battle of Hoth, and the Battle of Endor added in.

Thinking about it, Paris’s version had a lot more deep cuts until recently as well as generic, park-original fairy tale nods, which have by now all been replaced with IP. (Thankfully no Marvel yet)

Legoland already did the Battle of Hoth

TOP 10 Sacred Disneyland List

In no particular order:

7 was too hard

Disneyland Railroad Station/ Mickey Planter
Sleeping Beauty Castle
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
Rivers of America
Storybookland
Matterhorn (presence more than the ride)
It’s a Small World
Jungle Cruise
Monorail

This is still tough. No Enchanted Tiki Room, Lincoln or Tea Cups on there.

Where the H is Mr. Toad?

I think so. I meant to put Monorail with the lagoon vista. But that might be kind of cheating.
So its just the view for you rather than the actual attraction. So in that case they can just put a Monorail train going back and forth on a beam every 15 minutes in the area. That would save so much space and headaches in future planning.

That wouldn’t quite cut it. The Monorail has a big presence at DLR. It’s also iconic. Maybe not the current trains design so much. History, Icon status, quality, popularity, presence/ visibility and impact on atmosphere are the factors I considered making my list.

Now I will say even though my list was in no particular order Monorail did actually come in #10 for me. There’s a lot of sacred stuff at Disneyland.
