Which room & where to stay?

Please help - when we come to Disney next our children will be late teens early 20's and we normally stay at the WDW Dolphin and they have shared a king bed but what do we do now as they are going to be a lot older? We like the Dolphin because of the location but we would stay anywhere in the Epcot resorts. What does anyone else do?

Can't really help until we know how much you want to spend, how many of you there are, do you want more than one room? I'd probably just get two rooms at a resort.

There will be 4 adults altogether as the children will be 20 and 22! As we are travelling from the UK it usually costs us around £8,000 which is roughly $14,000 so sticking to around that amount would be good!

If there's only 4 of you, why don't you just get a standard room at any of the EPCOT resorts and two can sleep in each queen size bed, or if that's an issue, just get two rooms? Doesn't seem that complicated:veryconfu

What we ended up doing when it was my brother and I and my mom and dad and we would stay in a hotel together, I would share a bed with my mom and my brother with my dad. When we were little, my brother and I would share a bed but that was when we were really little. If the siblings are both girls or both boys, then I would assume they would be okay with sharing a bed. If that is okay, then I would just say 2 queen beds should be okay. If that won't work, then I would look into a room with 2 queen beds and a day bed or a suite.

I hope that helps!

When we stayed at the Boardwalk the rooms were really nice and big and I'm pretty sure had a daybed/couch in it also - the rooms were really pretty also - we were impressed! and its right by Epcot..:)

my kids are 5 years apart 1 boy 1 girl. they're now ages 21 and 26. when they were growing up (since around the ages of 5 and 10) they no longer wanted to really sleep together so we did a room at places like wilderness lodge where they have a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. i think they have them at ak as well, someone correct me please if i'm not remembering correctly. another option are the cabins at wilderness lodge. they sleep up to six. the bedroom has a double or queen with a set of bunk beds but there is also a double/queen pull down murphy bed in the main room and this is in the moderate resort category. the bunk bed option for us was the least expensive way to separate them but have the cost of a single room. depending on when your trip is and if you're on a tighter budget remember some of the value resorts have a few suites and the new art of animation is opening soon and is all suites but at the value resort category.

Most resorts on WDW property should be able to bring you a ______ - I'm assuming your kids are both a male and female, hence the bed sharing issue? My brother and I still have no problems with that, but if they're fussy, let one of them sleep on a ______. They're not too uncomfortable and they can switch off night by night if it will be a problem :)

Yes the AKL has bunkbed rooms. Good suggestion.

My daughter will be 20 and my son will be 22 and they do feel it's an issue to share the bed now....booking 2 rooms would put the budget up a lot...I was just asking what other people did.

Just stay at Caribbean Beach and rent a C o t. That way, no one has to share a bed and you don't have to sell an organ to accommodate your older kids on the trip.
Just have them alternate sleeping on the cit from night to night.

I've done this a lot with my family. My brother and I stopped being cool with sleeping in the same bed when we were teenagers. We would either do a male/female bed split (me with mom, brother with dad) if we only had two beds, or we would stay at the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge and get the bunk beds. Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort if you are willing to move away from the Epcot area. Now that my brother and I are both married, we've moved up to the villa rooms so everyone has their own bedroom.
