Planning on going to a restaurant at one of the WDW Hotels for my hubby's birthday in October. We will have our 1-year-old son with us too so will be making early reservations for 5:00-5:30ish. Which restaurant would you choose??? We are lovers of all types of food. Thanks!

'Ohana dinner at the Poly or Trails End Buffet at Ft Wilderness

At the Poly you can take a quick monerail ride after you eat and walk around the beautiful grounds, or at Ft Wilderness you can catch the Chip and Dale campfire sing-along!

I would agree that Whispering Canyon is a neat place, the foods pretty good, and your child might like the activity going on. The only down side is that is about the time they open and some of the fun things (like asking for Ketchup) works better a little later on.

having your DS along I would go with a character meal. Chef Mickey's (@ Contemporary) 1900 Park Fare (@GF) or Crystal palace in the MK. I think it would make DH's birthday more memorable to see DS interact with the character.

How about Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

It opens early, wonderful mixture of food and as its a buffet you and your husband can take turns with your son. There's also a nice relaxed bar area just above for drinks and you can take a look around the lodge at the animals too.

My choice would be 'Ohana. Second choice would be Chef Mickey's since you would have your 1yo with you- he might like the interaction with the characters.

I second 'Ohana. Whispering Canyon is good, but a bit loud. Chef Mickey's could be fun, or terrible, depending on how your child likes characters.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I will probably end up giving Ohana a try. We have always wanted to go there, but have never made it. We are going to Chef Mickey's with our son in June. He has already met Mickey, Minnie, etc., and absolutely loves them!!! I figure if we keep going to character meals at the resorts every few months or so, he won't ever get scared of the characters. He isn't going to a park though until his first birthday. :)

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort - it has alot of character interaction & the food is served buffet style.
Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge - it is alot of fun - the food is served family style.
Ohana's at the Poly Resort - atmosphere & food are great - served family style.
