Which resorts allow dogs?

Yeah, my dog does give me kisses but I would never let them trash a hotel room. Thanks. That comment was about as stupid as they come.

Btw, you have no idea if a dog was in the room before you. Every Disney resort has to allow service dogs. So while staying away from the dog friendly resort certainly ups the odds of having a room that didn't have a canine occupant, it does not guarantee it.

Touched a nerve there lady

Personally I have no problem with this rule change as long as the room is deep cleaned so I can't tell a dog was previously in the room. Regarding the barking, I'd be annoyed if I heard noises throughout the night from dogs, kids or adults!

@JusticeDisney, Good luck knowing if a dog stayed in your room previously and good luck trying to not pay if a dog was near you in an advertised dog friendly resort.
I said I wouldn’t pay if a dog kept me and my family up at night or disturbed us during the day by barking in its room, so there wouldn’t be much luck needed to know if that was occurring. And I wasn’t talking about staying in an advertised dog friendly area. What I was referring to is staying in a “regular” area yet still being affected by hearing dogs barking during the day or at night. And if that disturbance did actually occur (as some here have said they unfortunately experienced), then I most certainly would not pay for my room for that particular day. Wouldn’t need any luck to make that happen.

OK

Hence my confusion. sorry.
Dog friendly resorts don’t allow dogs anywhere in the building. There are certain restricted dog friendly areas, is my understanding. Therefore, just because you stay at a dog friendly resort, doesn’t mean that you are agreeing to be exposed to dogs. In other words, you could still stay at a resort that allows dogs, and at the same time fully expect and be entitled to stay in an area where the dogs will have no impact on your stay. Hope that clears up the confusion.

Actually if you stay in an advertised dog friendly resort there is an expectation that you will be exposed to dogs. To think otherwise is naive.
Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you are also entitled to be dead wrong. That’s the whole reason why Disney does not allow dogs anywhere throughout the resort, but instead confines the dogs to certain restricted areas or floors. If you believe that every single guest who stays at the yacht club, for example, is implicitly agreeing to be impacted by dogs throughout the resort, well then there is the naïve thinking to which you are referring.

If you say so. There is a difference between being exposed as I said and being impacted as you said.
Oh, I completely agree with you there. I understand that if you stay at a place such as the yacht club, you better be prepared for the possibility of seeing dogs. But that’s not what I was ever talking about in this thread. What I was talking about is being able to be in my room, day or night, and not have to listen to barking dogs. And that is not something that every guest who stays at the yacht club is agreeing to potentially have happen. Again, that is the whole reason why Disney restricts dogs to certain limited areas, as opposed to allowing them to stay anywhere throughout the resort.

I just spoke to CM Sherri and this is what she said on chat:
Absolutely! The following resorts & room types allow for dogs at this time:
Port Orleans Riverside; Standard & Garden Rooms
Art of Animation; Cars & Little Mermaid Rooms
Yacht Club; Garden & Lagoon Rooms and
Fort Wilderness Cabins Loops 2200 & 2300.

As an added bonus, at check-in, your 4 legged Mouseketeer will receive Pluto’s Welcome Kit. It includes a mat, bowls, a pet ID tag, courtesy plastic disposable bags, puppy pads and dog walking maps. Also included: a Pluto 'Do Not Disturb' door hanger indicating to resort staff that a pet is in the room.

To book one of these rooms, please call 407-560-CHAT (2428), and one of our Reservation Cast Members will be more than happy to assist you and your 4 legged- Mouseketeer with your booking.

She also sent me this link: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...ect-walt-disney-world-hotels-starting-oct-15/

So, I guess it is still going on.

Well, there are four places I will never stay at again. I’m just glad the beach club isn’t among that group, I think I would start crying if it was.

Yes, it's still going on right now. The one-year trial is scheduled to end on October 15 so it's still not a problem to book a dog-friendly room if you're arriving by October 15. Just curious, did you happen to ask about booking a room past October 15? That's where things seem to get fuzzy. I've seen people post that they tried to book a dog-friendly room in December and January and were told they would not be available after October 15 except for reservations that had already been booked prior to the date Disney announced that they were ending the trial on October 15 (I think that was at the end of June) -- that at this point they were not taking reservations for dog-friendly rooms for stays beginning after October 15.

Interesting that there were definitely dogs in our Lion King building at AoA in June (and they were definitely not service dogs) but LK isn't listed as a designated building in the info from the chat CM.

I did not, but I went back onto chat and spoke to CM Cammie who said: "The latest communication we received states that 'We are continuing to evaluate the program and will honor reservations made after October 15, 2018." I don't have a dog, so I have no idea for sure if they are still booking those rooms.

Hey I am from NYC (you talking to me?) - and we have a dog

all kidding aside:
-The animal market has exploded in the US - more and more people have pets than ever before (see all those animal pet food commercials and stores?). These pet owners are now wanting to take vacations and bring FIDO along.
-And not just DW - but all hotels are considering or have already allowed accommodations for pets - even some of the higher priced locations (4 Seasons at Disney allows pets).
-But all concerned should note - if you have a pet and bring him/her to a resort - and there is an issue - the resort will 'work' with you to fix it (AKA either little doggie shuts up or you leave) - this is a confirmed policy.
-in the cases where pets are allowed; the hotels have specific room locations. They are usually lower floor levels and are not considered the more desirable (garden or parking lot view).
- also, you can't just bring FIDO to all places at the hotel or parks. These pet owners must adhere to the rules and they are clearly marked. That is why if you see FIDO it usually is only in the lobby - and that's for a short time period.
- in the case with Disney; it is strongly suggested that Fido also attend the daycare facility on Disney grounds. We have been there and it is one of the best pet daycare places I have ever seen. Very well run and you have the ability to constantly check with same time video cam!

FYI

I was looking at the webpage regarding this and was wondering if there is any transportation to the place or do most people who rent there have cars?
Most cases if FIDO came with a family - the family most likely drove to Disney; so transportation is taken care of. In the case of the 4 seasons guest - they flew to the 4 seasons from NYC - we asked. Not part of the story - but I have seen an increase of use of LIFT and UBER in the Disney property - so worst case people can use those

Just a question that I honestly don't know the answer to...what about the out of control "service animals"...I thought that with the ADA laws, they would be allowed anywhere the human guest is...how does Disney handle that? If that IS the case, theoretically you could have a dog in any room at any resort. I know they can't discriminate and force those guests with service animals into one section/floor of the resort. Can anyone clarify this?
