I've always liked the Yacht & Beach for families. It's a walk to Epcot, a short boat ride to the Studios and has best pool (in my humble opinion) on property.

You can see (& hear) parts of Illuminations (the Epcot fireworks) from the beach and if you get some time away from the kids in the evening you can hit some places on the Boardwalk for "adult only" time. Even a walk around the Boardwalk is nice in the evenings.

that's my vote, but I'm sure you'll get others

I have stayed at both Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. I think the most important thing to consider is if you spent more time at the MK or at Epcot. Wilderness Lodge has a boat to MK and you can watch to Epcot from the Beach Club. You CAN walk to DHS from there but it's a longer walk, so there is a boat to take you there as well. The same is true for Boardwalk, as it is in the same area as Beach/Yacht Clubs.

When deciding between Boardwalk or Beach Club, we looked at pictures of the room and chose Beach Club based on decor since the resorts are similar. The other pro for Beach/Yacht Club is the amazing pool. Though I haven't stayed at Boardwalk, I would imagine the pro might be the shops/dining options. However, you can still visit those while at the Beach Club, it's a very short walk.

From Beach Club to the gates of World Showcase is a 5 minute walk. My family loves this because we spend a lot of time in WS. We weren't huge fans of the boat at Wilderness Lodge, but it is nice to have some transportation variety. Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort as well, and I think a little less expensive than Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk. I suggest looking at pictures of the rooms and menus for the food options in order to make a decision. If you're someone who spends a lot of time at the resort pool, then I strongly recommend Beach/Yacht. Good luck!

We've stayed at the Boardwalk Inn once and while its a great area we really didn't care all that much for the hotel. Its very large and spread out. Everything is outside and my family wasn't all that enthused with the food offerings (me, I eat anything). We have stayed at the WL over 10 times now and thats our favorite. My kids feel comfortable wandering around on their own (are now 19 and 14 so its not an issue anymore) and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We love the restaurants, the pool and the Mercantile is a very nice place to shop. We love to take the boat over to the MK or to the Contemporary to hit the monorail...for us its home.

To help with the recommendation, it would be helpful to know a little about you and your Disney vacation plans. How many in your party?, small children? do you know the parks well or has it been a while? Will you spend much of your time in the parks or do you like to relax and take advantage of the resort amenities?

Each resort has pro's and con's and tend to fit with different itineraries. Three deluxes, Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary are on the monorail line providing easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Each have a number of nice dining options on grounds. Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful environment, with boat access to MK, bus to all else. Animal Kingdom lodge is similar in many ways to Wilderness Lodge, with a special taste of Africa. All transportation is by bus. Yacht and Beach, and Boardwalk are all walking distance to Epcot, and depending on your energy, MGM as well.

Wilderness lodge gets my vote - brilliant themeing and a real sense of being in Disney which I don't really get from other places I've visited (except the Animal Kingdom Lodge).

There is no perfect resort per se. Many factors come into play. Are you pool people? If so, then the Yacht/Beach Club's Stormalong Bay is hard to beat, especially in hot (July) weather. If not, then you may prefer the northern, rustic lake feel of the Wilderness Lodge. Then there's location. Walking back to your room after Reflections of Earth is hard to beat. But you may prefer the short boat or bus ride after Wishes to the WL.

Have you considered splitting your stay between YC/BC and WL? Best of both worlds.

beach club. it has an AMAZING POOL, and it reminds me of our summerhouse in dennisport, cape cod, MA, and Hyannis Port, Cape cod, ma.
it is my fav. hotel and is one we have stayed at most of our trips.

Of those options you list out, I would go with the Yacht/Beach, but it's more just due to my own personal preferences than anything else (I like the theme best, and I like the pool and the proximity to Epcot). But you really can't go "wrong" with any of the ones you're considering. :)

I suggest the Beach Club. Yacht is ok too but the Beach Club is a little closer to the International Gateway that will take you right into the "back door" of Epcot. I always ask for a room closest to the Gateway.

However, we prefer this resort due to two main reasons #1 we love Epcot. We spend most of our time there. #2 My son loves the pool, which is like a mini-waterpark.

When my son was smaller we preferred the Polynesian because of the monorail to the MK, which is where we spent most of our time. But now as he has grown and we all prefer Epcot there is no better place than the Beach Club.

Downside to the Beach Club--no "fast food" counter service.

Good luck!

My neice is 16. If I were trying to pick a resort for her I would not choose BW. If we were going to spend alot of pool time she'd probably like BC the best. But my heart belongs to WL. Only you though can decide whch is best for your family.
