Which Resort is best for kids 6 & 2

Not sure if the OP is still here, or if we are just talking amongst ourselves. But that's fun too, so one more thought...the thing about riding the monorail to the park at that age is you don't have to fold up your stroller. On the bus, they make you fold up the stroller. Two year olds have a lot of stuff they travel with, so folding the stroller is a pain.

Not to mention the ease/time of travel on the launch or monorail. You save so many hours over the course of a trip..so easy to come back to the resort for a break from MK.
For me personally, I can’t imagine not choosing convenience with young children in tow.
But then again, I’m one of the few people who had ZERO interest in taking a 5,6,7 year old to Stormalong Bay. That doesn’t sound relaxing or convenient, at all, to me.lol
I’m also one of the few people who like the clown pool at BWI, and know that my kid would love it as well.. he’ll stay there someday, when MK takes up less of our time..

Don't you love when someone new to the boards creates a thread and then just disappears?
Katiebug!
Yeah but we don't know what her deal is. Could be anything from "turns out we can't go" to "my know it all sister in law insisted we stay at (insert resort name here)" to "I'm too busy with real life to think about my trip for now."

katiebug was more troll than one-timer.

I have actually took the trip with a 6 and a 2 year old (my niece and nephew) in 2016. My two boys, were 6 and 4 at the time so we had 4 kids. To me, if money isn't the limiting factor, the Contemporary is the perfect choice. Great character dining at Chef Mickey. Amazing view of the park and the fire works, especially with kids (the 2 year old) who likely won't make it all night in the park to see them there. Further, while the Polynesian is also on the monorail like the Contemporary, having the ability to make a quick 9 minute walk back to the Contemporary is the selling point for me. Especially with a 2 year old who may still be taking naps. Having that quick walk ability to have one parent take the little one back to the hotel for a couple hours is great. Plus, when meltdowns at that age, or even the 6 year old, come on, they come on quick. The 9 minute walk versus having to wait for a monorail or a water taxi can't be beat.

Any WDW resort is a good one for kids, and adults. I would base my hotel decision on your budget and what area you want to stay. The kids will love any resort that you pick. Over the last 16 years that we have traveled with our kids, they have stayed at 9 different WDW resorts and enjoyed them all.

Well said. If they're anything like my grandchildren were, as long as they can try out every chair in the lobby, swim in the pool, bounce on the couch, and ride those "fun" buses, it will be the best resort ever. When we went with our 2 yo and 4 yo granddaughters, we stayed at OKW, which really probably wasn't the "best" choice for kids, but we got headaches trying to decide which would be their favorite. Finally DH decided "I love OKW, so that's where we'll stay!" We were at WDW-they loved it!

My personal recommendations balancing manageable size, kid-aimed theme, reasonable price, and good location/proximity:

Manageable size + reasonable price + kid-aimed theme (but less convenient location, smaller room and fewer amenities) - Pop Century (value)
Manageable size + reasonable price (but tame theme and slightly less convenient location) - Port Orleans French Quarter (moderate)
Reasonable price + kid-friendly theme (but sprawling size and slightly less convenient location) - Port Orleans Riverside or Coronado Springs (moderate)
Kid-aimed theme, mid-range price (but sprawling size and less convenient location ) - Fort Wilderness Campground (family cabins, moderate)
Manageable size, good location and kid-aimed theme (but very extravagantly priced) - Polynesian (Deluxe)
Manageable size, good location (but tame theme and extravagantly priced) - Contemporary (Deluxe)

Just keep in mind that wherever you choose to stay, your kids will love it and think it's the most fabulous hotel they've ever seen, and will probably be inordinately fascinated with the pool, considering it to be on par with attractions like Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. At least, that's how my children (who don't lack access to pools at home, BTW) have always reacted.

My 7 year old (6 at the time) love POR. She loved the murphy type bed that pulled down from the wall under the tv. She also loved the pools (both POR and POFQ). The only downside was how far you had to walk to get to everything unless you stay in a preferred room. We booked a garden view room, but I also wanted to be near the parking lot because we used our car almost exclusively. Great proximity to parking lot and beautiful views, but about 5+ minute walk to food court and pools, which isnt fun when you are walking tons during the day at parks. I would say spring for a preferred room if you stay here. Here is a picture of my daughter enjoying the pull out bed.
