Which Polynesian Restaurant?

I'll be heading down to WDW in jan, and trying to figure out where to eat. I've been there probably like 5 or 6 times, but never even step foot into this hotel. All 3 sit-down options sound really good- Kona, Ohana and the Luau, and was wondering out of the 3 which would you recommend for 2 adults (23, 23). I know the Luau counts as 2 meals, but if it was worth it, I'd do it. I'm staying 8 nights, so I have the credits. Thanks so much!

I haven't been to the Luau since they changed it over, but I hear its fun. Kona Kafe is a sit down, but not fancy so its great for a quick breakfast or lunch. I would try 'Ohana as my first choice. Its a lot of fun, we enjoyed the food and if you time it right you can see the fireworks. If you can't work it out to be at a table for the fireworks then you can see them (with the music) from the beach and then see the Electric Water pageant.

I agree with tigsmom. O'Hana should be tops on your list of Polynesian restaurants. My wife and I (28 & 25) have been twice and love it!

You really can't go wrong with Kona or Ohana!! They're two of my favorite restaurants in WDW. I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at Kona and all meals are excellent. I would suggest getting lunch there and try the white chocolate cheesecake, it's delicious. However, for dinner you must try Ohana. It's a unique experience with really great food.

Considering you are going to be there for 8 nights you might want to try them both.

As for the luau, we haven't tried it yet because it seems to get such mixed reviews.

I liked the Lau cove

and I was on Disney Dinning premium I do not think that plan used two credits and I am in my 50's it is family style meaning you serve your self

I also liked Narcosis and we where able too see the fireworks from their from Magic Kingdom :) :sohappy: My husband and I love Disney

We had breakfast at the Kona Cafe (yummy yummy Tonga Toast) and really liked it, and this upcoming trip we are trying Ohana's. We've debated on the Luau, but have heard mixed reviews and since we've done Luau's in Hawaii, decided to stay with Ohana's this trip :)

My brother-in-law has eaten at O'hanas for dinner a few times and he absolutely loves it. He said the food is great. On his last trip he had 2 little ones with him( nieces were 7 years old and 2 years old). He said they had a wonderful time. He raved about this place so much that we tried to get ressies for our last trip in April but, couldn't get in. This time we managed to get a ressie for our upcoming trip in January, we can't wait!

The food at the Luau is excellent! The show is so so but I really enjoyed the overall experience of it. And it was so nice to just relax and eat and watch the dancers.
Oh and the all you can drink beer was not bad either!!!
