Which moderate?

Hi everybody. Just looking for opinions. My family and I have always stayed at value resorts. Andour last few trips dvc resorts. Our next trip I believe we will stay at a moderate. Which resort would you recommend for best bus service?

Hold the phone! Ive just noticed your only 20 years old.You can have my seat if standing is a problem for you.;)
I'm only 17 3/4 and I don't like standing either! After 2am extra magic hours, no one wants to be standing. Or in a crowded bus. Or anyplace but in bed for that matter.

Standing is only a problem for me if I can't get to a bar. I can't hold onto the overhead restraints because I'm only 5 ft and can't get a good enough grip on them to hold me steady.

Yes, there are multiple stops at CSR but that is bc the resort is so spread out. Having one bus stop would be too congested, like the values. CSR is our fav moderate. The theme is incredible, the pool is great, the rooms are clean and newly renovated, the food is delicious and I love the store there. The last time we were there we had a rental car but the buses were usually empty and the stops barely had anyone at them. At the end of the evening, the stop to go home wasn't even crowded. I think looking at buses is quite important as I have wasted valuable time waiting for a bus rather than enjoying my time in a park.
A moderate is so much quieter than a value and right there adds to the value of it. :)

Port Orleans Riverside always appears to have the shortest lines. Plus there is boat service to Downtown Disney. My family is DVC, so we don't usually stay at the moderate resorts, but this one has been nice in the past.

POFQ has the shortest bus lines without a doubt. PORiv looks like the lines are smaller because they are spread around 5 bus stops -- it actually ends up being more crowded because of the larger resort with way more people.
There is no comparison for convenience, POFQ is the best. I stay at no other resorts anymore partly because of that reason - convenience of access from resort room to bus, and from bus to park is really my prime consideration for the resort, because I spend almost no time there in the room as it is.

Haha that's very kind of you :P I don't mind giving up my seat for seniors or people that genuinely need it. However I do hate standing for the obese in ECVs and their large groups who take up most of the bus. If those people actually walked around WDW even for a little bit I'm sure they'll lose weight and feel better for it.

Ooh this is quite the interesting thread. Bus times really are important, aren't they!

My favorite resort on the whole property (besides GF, because oh my goodness that place) is Coronado. It's moderate but feels like a deluxe resort to me. I know sort of recently they re-did a lot of the stuff for CS, and I love it. I've also stayed at PORS, and didn't like it that much but they certainly might've re-done it since I've been there.

Bus wise I'm not help. Usually I've had a car while at WDW, but I'll be taking other people's tips as well!

Put me/us down for the Riverside, the Caribbean Beach, French Quarter and Coronado Springs in that order; opinions will vary.

Wow! Hush ma mouth..I totally agree about the obesity problem,( not only in the states ) but I tend to keep my thoughts to myself,I hate it when my DW kicks me in the ankle,it kinda hurts.:(

we have stayed at POR (royal rooms), CB (pirate rooms) and Coronado. We liked them all. Have never stayed at POFQ, but we are stayeing there for part of our stay this July (Splitting with YC) because of the reviews. It all depends on the style of theming you want to experience.

Lol, we did 3 am Extra Magic Hours once, but we were staying at BLT and could walk back. I see you're from Scottland, so I'm sure adjusting to the time difference has something to do with your early bedtime. When I went to Hawaii (which is a 6 hour difference from Maryland) I went to bed at 10 pm every night. Just could not stay up any later. The first few nights I was in bed at 8.

For an American teenager, 2 am is a fairly normal bedtime in the summer. As is getting up at 11 am the next day. Usually, we're walking out at 2:30 and get back between 3 and 3:30 am, depending on how quickly the bus gets there and where we're staying. BLT is ideal since we just walk back. It's so worth it; we do so much in the last hour or two.

I'd recommend CSR in a heartbeat! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price.

CSR has queen beds and the rooms have been recently renovated and are gorgeous. The rooms also have a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods (can be good for little ones napping in a pack n play).

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night club. Beginning in 2013, club level rooms will be offer to guests.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great and all located in one area at the main pool.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

We stayed at CSR in 2010 and are staying there for the first 5 nights of our upcoming April trip, and I'm not sure I ever saw where the sauna was when we were there. I wouldn't mind using it, but if it was at the main pool area, I must have overlooked it.

. Trust me,it's got nothing to do with the time difference,it's a age thing. Even after our 15 hr journey from Scotland to WDW. I'am up at 5.30am the first day,no jet lag what so ever. 2.30 am is for vampires,6.30am is for Roosters.;)
