coronado springs for me was the best. the only mod resort we have stayed in but it was great. the pool is perfect plus all the satellite pools around the resort are nice.

I have never stayed in a moderate either, but I have made reservations at Caribbean Beach for May 15th. Can anyone tell me what other resorts are connected transporation wise with CB or Coronado Springs or PO. Do you only have the choice of bus transportation at these resorts or can you also take boats? I have only stayed at Deluxe Resorts with my parents so I've been a bit spoiled. Now that I'm a poor newlywed, I have to be more budget conscious now.

The moderates are big. To me, that is their drawback. CS was a great stay, but getting around the resort was cumbersome. It was due to the very thing that gave the resort its charm, the pond that the resort is built around. Some people might call it a lake because its soo big! A straight line is the shortest path typically, and that straight line runs right through the pond to get to where you want to go. Sooo you walk around it. You can take the bridge to the pool though. Still a great resort, not to be missed. The themeing is nice, the pool and hot tub great, the quick service restaurant, The Pepper Market, is a unique, gourmet, food court.

We always stay at Dixie Landings. Its very nice and there is two sides to stay at: Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. So you can have a semi different experience in either one. Its our favorite moderate.

Port Orleans Riverside for me also. If you do a search for POR topics, you'll find many guestimonials already covering POR.

Just curious guys, but what sort of price do you pay nightly for a resort such as Port Orleans? Just trying to guage how much the travel companies fleece overseas visitors.

My favorite is Port Orleans: French Quarter. I just love the atmosphere, and the fact that everything is close by. After a day of walking the parks, it's nice not to have to walk the hotel.

Wannabebelle, thanks for the link. If I were to book Port Orleans for myself and the missus it would cost £3800. Looks like you guys get the rooms for around £80 per night, making it a saving of £2200 on my three week holiday. Of course you've still got to factor in the cost of the plane journey but you can bet that it wouldn't cost anything close to that amount.

Nine previous trips to WDW and still to sample a resort hotel. Oh well.

The Beach

For me it has to be the Carribbean Beach Resort. It is so nice to me, every time I visit there it seems like home. Me and the rest of my family spent 1 year at Coronado and thought it was good too. But there is nothing like their pool and walking into Ole Port Royale.

Tomorrow I will be chatting with pam of Kingdom Konsultant, our travel sponsor on here. Would you like me to see what kinds of things she can do for our friends across the Pond?? She has worked wonders for the board members that use her here. Belle

Now onto the actual question here!!!! Which Moderate?? Well the answer is all of them are good and I dont know if you can really go wrong with any of them.
Coronado Springs- Mexican Heat, a FABULOUS pool area, the most "adult" of the resrots as it was geared as a convention center. Also the only Moderate with a gym and a salon, if such things are important to you!!!
Carribean Beach- VERY Big resort the largest of the Moderates in fact. Very nicely done and set up but you could be a bit far from the main building. No sit down breakfast restaurant there ( C'mon Shutters catch a hint!!!) I havent stayed at this one since 2000.
French Quarter- Small intimate resort, very Southern in feel, boat to Downtown Disney, one pool only but with the option to use all of the Amenities at Riverside as they are sister resorts
Riverside- Aaahh my Southern Home!!!! This is my favorite of the Moderates and I have probably stayed more often here than the other three combined. Lovely flowers and trees, the beautiful Sassagoula river running thru the resort, the Boat to Downtown Disney as well, Boatwright's for breakfast in the morning!!! WHat more could you possibly want??
As I said any way you go you cant go wrong, just pick the one that rocks your socks and go for it!!!! You can always try the other three on your next trips!!!!!!! Belle
