Which January weekend?

Just wondering, what do you think will be the best weekend in January to go? We've been tossing around the 10th-11th,will the New Years crowds be down? Cause I don't want to wait in 90 min. lines for Splash Mountain and 150 for Test Track. I want it to be like it was when I was there earlier this December, when everything was walk on.....

That's the weekend I'm going to be there, for the same reason. I hope I'm making the right choice. :lol:

The following weekend is MLK weekend, the previous weekend might have remnants of the Holiday crowd.

Of course, everyone else might be thinking the same thing, which will make it crowded. :lol:

I've been there mid-Jan before, around the 15th, crowds were very sparce... small crowds of anytime I've been there.

I'll be there the 3rd-8th and have been told the crowds will die down dramatically on the 2nd or 3rd. Hopefully this is true.

Usually, the crowds do die down after New Year's Day, but... New Year's is on a Thursday this year, which means a lot of businesses aren't going to bother opening on Friday, or a lot of people will just take an extra day, and stay at WDW until Saturday or Sunday. (the 3rd & 4th)

There is the WDW Marathon from the 8th-10th, will that make some large crowds on the weekend?

I've been there during the marathon three times now, and the crowds have never been too bad. The only major problem is traffic. On the day of the marathon bus service gets majorly screwed up because of the marathoners in the roads. My advice, find any way to get to the parks other than the roads.
