Which is the correct menu?

AS others have stated, V&A has a market fresh menu and chances are it changes daily. But because of it, you're getting one of the freshest dinners in the Orlando area. My advice, get a fish dish.

Jimmy Thick- You're also paying for the freshness...

It is a 7 (or more) course menu. You don't just get a "fish dish". Unless you say that you do not want fish, then there will be a fish course on your menu where you choose from three fish dishes. There is also a fowl (bird) course and a meat course along with an appitizer, a dessert, a cheese course, 3 bread servings, a pallet cleanser, and an amuse bouche. You can't just "get a fish dish"

I actually got a phone call the day before yesterday, I had been on the waiting list for the Queen Vic room and it opened up. So I now know the whole song and dance after talking to the very nice lady on the phone.

Looks like I'm in for a 4 hour meal and a lot of surprises. But thank you everyone for your feedback and making sense of it all

So you are saying I can't get what I want at this four star establishment. For what they charge, if I ask for seven courses of fish and a glass of water I expect it.

If you called ahead and said you wanted seven fish courses, they would try to do so. If you tried to do that night of your service, you would be out of luck.

the point was, Jimmy Thick stated "My advice, get a fish dish" - as if this was the sort of restaruant where you order an app, entree, and dessert. It is nothing like that, you do not just "order a dish". You get a seven course menu, and have a choice of three items for each course. If you express any sort of prefrences or allergies WHEN YOU BOOK, your menu will be adjusted acordingly. If you do not want beef for example, chances are you will have an extra fowl course in the menu. If you said you were a pesactarian, then most likely you would have 4 or 5 fish courses. I suspect that they would try and structure the menu so you would have some lighter courses where the fowl course would have been, something heavier during the beef/game course and something middle of the road during the traditional fish course. That is why you have to make these arrangements ahead of time. When you ask for a change, the kitchen does not go "let me dig around in the reach in and see what I can slap on a plate for you". The entire menu is crafted to have a certain flow ahead of time.

For Jimmy to say "get a fish dish" makes no sense. To say something like 'Even if you normally do not like fish, I suggest not asking for it to be remove from the menu, and insted try whatever they offer for the fish course. It is just that good." does make sense given the way this restaruant operates.

Just a quick bump.

Best meal of my life and one of the best parts of the trip. The menu was very close to what was on the website - with a few small changes due to some dietary/allergy restrictions. I'll have to save a long while to go there again but I hope that day comes sooner than later

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Do you have any pictures of the food?

I had never seen a truffle that large in my life. Oh and if I could steal, I mean borrow, their coffee maker that would be great
