Which is safer? Neighborhood or stand alone home?

Well... It's not "the one," unfortunately. It's back about a mile off the road in the middle of the trees. It's a converted barn and you have to take three flights of stares to enter. The landlord lives in a house about five feet away and he's a beekeeper, so there are bees everywhere. There are also chickens all over the place. So... it's not for me. But it was beautiful on the inside!

That's too bad. Those things would be deal breakers for me, too. Living five feet away from your landlord? Nope. He could have been one of those nosy neighbors, always getting in your business.

@ op, I can relate to your fear of a stand alone homes Becuase on my aunts farm I can not look out the windows at night. I've lived in neighborhoods all my life so seeing others near me is natural and thats why I feel this way.
Since in a way I have experienced both (sleepovers at the stand alone) and while the stand alone is hard to look outside Becuase others are not near by I still feel safer Becuase of that. Just being with more population means being near more crazies. also at a stand alone IMO fire arms are a must but then again imo that's just a good thing.
I think of it this way less people near you less bad people near you.
I think its just a matter of getting used to it. The look, the feel, & most of all the change. Will you be able to get used to it? Do you love the city or will you love coutry. You have to try it to find out. I hope one day I get to leave the city even though i love it its still annoying.
Good luck!
