Well, After some intense research, I've decided that I'm gonna throw down some of my hard-earned money on a Microsoft XBOX in the near future. The package that I'm getting includes the games NCAA 2005 Football and Topspin. I'm thinking of buying 007: Everything or Nothing, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, or something else. I'd like to know everyone's opinions on various games, and if you think you can talk me into a different console, I'll gladly read what you have to say.

Star Wars KOTOR is a LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG game. Be prepared to give weeks, if not months, out of your life to this game. I don't own an Xbox, but if I had the money I would buy one just for that game. Not to mention that KOTOR II is gonna be released soon or already is.

And remember, it isn't the quality of the graphics, its the quality of the story/plot which PS2 has more of, IMHO.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 comes out this Saturday, and yes, I've heard that it takes a while to beat. I'm not yet aquainted with modern day gaming consoles, so it'll take me even longer to get used to the controller.

I don't own an X-Box, but I do work in the electronics dept. at Target and I sell quite a few games. The most popular X-Box games we sell are Halo 2, Star Wars: Battlefront, Call of Duty: Finest Hour, almost any EA Sports game, and the ESPN 2K5 games.

My two cents.

I don't remember if there is one or not, but I heard that there was an adaptor for Xbox that can connect a PS2 controller to it. If there is, try and find it and buy it!!! PS2s controllers are a helluva lot easier to use.

I have Xbox and I don't like it too much. The main reason I bought it was because of HALO. I have had it for over 2 years and only have 6 games . But on the other hand my Playstation has 27. :hammer:

Are you going to get XBOX live? If so it will change my answer. I love my Xbox!
All games look better on the box!

No, I don't plan on getting Xbox live because I have dial-up internet.

Tower of Terror:
The number of games doesn't me. I'll probably wind up with just 6 also. I like to get my money's worth out of a game. To give you an idea, I've been playing nothing but Madden NFL 2004 since last December on my computer.

Cru5h:
It is probably inevitable that I one day will try Halo and get hooked on it...and I'll thank you.

Static-X:
There is a smaller controller for Xbox called Controller S. It was originally designed for Japanese gamers.

Yeah, I just bought the Top Spin/NCAA Football XBox package. Top Spin is one of the best games I've ever played, and NCAA, though I'm terrible at it, is really fun too. Halo 2 is a really good game, I agree with Cru5h, get that :)

BTW, Anybody want to PM me about the plot of Halo 2? I never played Halo 1, and I'm not understanding a thing, I'm just mindlessly killing aliens :D

I had never heard of Halo until recently, and know nothing about it. I guess that is why I'm hesitant about getting it.

Halo 2 rocks !!! Much more than just a first person shooter. I love being able to Ghostjack alien vehicles. What a hoot

Simpsons Hit & Run -- like GTA except without all the gratuitous violence and with loads of Simpsons characters

ESPN NFL 2K5 -- for $20, can't beat it. And it's X-Box live compatable and I believe you get 2 free months with the package you got.

Question: Do you buy video games based on their graphics or their story lines/plots? If you ask me, it's the story that makes or breaks a game, not graphics. Just a question and an opinion, not trying to start anything like I have seen in other threads here.

I do not have an Xbox and have never played Halo or Halo2, but when Halo2 came out the guys in the dorm room next to me missed an entire week of class playing it. Going on this and other things I've heard I would go for that.

I used to have that same prejudice against the XBOX, but then I bought one and I like its controllers 10x more. Also KOTOR does not take months to beat, maybe 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks to beat.

I would recomend buying the original Halo which IMHO is better than the sequal, but I would still pick Halo 2 up anyway b/c they are both great games. Rainbow Six 3:black ARrow and Ghost Recon 2 are also very good games, but Rainbow Six four will be coming out soon, so you might want to hold off on buying R63:Black Arrow.

I know this wasnt directed to me, but I'm gonna answer it  . I have never bought games on the basis of graphics, but after purchasing a XBOX I will never buy a third party game for any other system. They look so muck better it's astounding. I own all three of the systems, and XBOX will become my favorite when I get XBOX LIVE.
