Which Dining Plan?

I would LOVE to eat at some signature restaurants on property and use the DDP for the first time on our next trip. Which dining plan would be best and most affordable if we are considering AKL? Some of my picks are Cali Grill, Le Cellier for signature and for table 50's Prime Time, Whispering Canyon, Boma, Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, and Tony's. We wouldn't HAVE to do all of these but the DDP confuses me and is a bit pricy and because our trip is in May of 2014 I don't know about possible promotions or discounts. Just curious and I might do further research to see if (with what we would order) it would even be worth it. Thanks! :D

If there is a free dining promotion, you can upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan with just the cost difference between that and the regular plan. That may be your best best if you are wanting to do several signature meals.

Yeah that's what I was hoping...and I hope free dining will be offered during my stay! Is the free plan usually the quick or plus DDP?

It usually depends on where you are staying. The Values are usually offered the quick service plan, and the mods and deluxes are usually offered the regular plan. You can upgrade any of the plans for the cost difference. How long are you planning to stay?

The Dining Plan (Not Deluxe Dining Plan) should be fine for your needs. 1 TS, 1 QS, and 1 snack should be fine for your needs. Its looks as if you have 2 sigs listed, so you might have to OOP on or two meals. If so, make those two quick service.

Id definately upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan...it gives you maximum flexibility to schedule some great signature places to eat..

If you can pull it off...this is a great option!

I've read that the deluxe dining plan is way too much food.So maybe people that has had this deluxe plan can help out.
Hatter...

I prefer the deluxe dining plan..you get 3 TS and 2 snacks per person per day.

We generally eat One big meal a day.. I prefer a sit down dinner with good food so Ill combine 2 TS on several days for one signature dinner..like the Yachtsman Steakhouse..we will generally use the other TS for a breakfast buffet that way you can get light foods or a big meal dependant on how you feel...the 2 snacks are used to bridge the gap between breakfast and dinner..or the reverse if we dont do a breakfast buffet we use snacks for a pastry or something..all depends on your tastes..it suits our lifestyle...Im not eating a ton of fast food over an 8 day vactation...not good for the body

I love the deluxe dining plan for my needs, but I wouldn't do it on a 4-5 day trip. Too much time away from the parks.

Figure our how many points the restaurants you want will use and how many nights you will have. If you will only need 1 or 2 points over on the regular dining plan, use that.

I dont find it takes to much time away from the parks if planned well..eating at the Yachtsman on a day Im visiting EPCOT may take an extra 20 minutes vs eating at Le Cellier..or Teppan Edo

If I am going to do Deluxe, I am only eating at TS restaurants. I won't waste my credit on a QS. That is what really takes up more of my time. 1 TS for breakfast or lunch and a signature for dinner.

never done the deluxe, but the typical DP is sufficient and we are big eaters. The ts/qs options offer a lot of flexibility imo.
