Which Building Should I Request at SSR?

If we want to be close to the feature pool and the most convenient transportation location, which building should we request for a deluxe studio? So we don't have to walk a mile to get to the bus stop for resorts and such? Better yet, does anyone have a favorite studio room they always request?

The closest to the Carriage House -Check In,Store,Restaruants and Main Pool is the Springs, However, the first Bus Stop is the Grand Stand and they have their own pool. That being said I enjoy the Springs the best. I have stayed in Congress Park 2x, The Springs 2x and the Grand Stand 1x

If we want to be close to the feature pool...

The are two feature pools--one in The Paddock and one close to The Springs. There is also a semi feature pool in The Grandstand (no slide or lifeguards but nearby fountains and pool bar.)

...which building should we request for a deluxe studio?

Every building has Deluxe Studio villas.

So we don't have to walk a mile to get to the bus stop for resorts and such?

There are five bus stops throughout the resort so no building is very far from transportation. You won't have to "walk a mile" to get to any of the main resort amenities.

Thanks! It's kinda hard to tell from the map. But I know from staying at HHI resort, that the walk from our villa to the main building was a serious hike.

Studio 3501 in the Springs. Right across from the main pool and main hub area. First room in the building on the ground floor. literally 20 feet away is the bus stop and the pool. and i'm not exaggerating. We were so fortunate to get this room a few summers ago.

SSR is my least favorite DVC resort because of how spread out it is. Of course sometimes we have to stay ther due to last minute trips and that being all that is available.

When we have to stay, I always request the Grand Stand. I love being first on the bus in the morn (always get a seat) and first off the bus in the evenings (with our usually sleeping children). I am also not too put out with the walk to the main pool and it is also an easy walk to the boat launch for DD.

Hope you have a GREAT stay!!

I've stayed at SSR twice. Once at Congress Park and once at The Grandstand.

Congress Park is nice because it is slightly set apart from everything else, and maybe a "bit" quieter. But, it's also a hike to the main building, the boat taxi to Downtown Disney, etc.

The Grandstand was our favorite. We were 30 seconds to the bus stop and a short 2 minute walk up to the main building. We really liked the Grandstand pool and the close proximity to the boat taxi. It's slightly removed from the center of the action, which was fine with us. This would be our choice in returning to SSR.

Whenever we stay at SSR we always ask to be near the Carriage House. Like others have said, it is near the check-in. restaurants, main pool and you wil have a very small walk. When we have not stayed near there we have had to walk quite a bit.
