I just came back from my longest trip to the World (11 days) so far and after a lot of days at the parks I realized there are quite a lot of attractions that are so outdated or just plain annoying that you could fill an entire park with them and call it "Disney's Hell on Earth Theme Park" (Admission: Your soul!).
There are a lot of stupid, annoying, boring or severely outdated rides I would love to see go because they consume space and money that could be spent to create new attractions. I listed up my ten all-time-favorite-attractions-I-love-to-hate and want to know how you think about it? What attraction do you dislike so much that you would love to see it wiped out of the park map?

Just to make this clear, I LOVED the original Tiki Room, I however loathe the "new management" and would prefer to see it ripped to pieces or something equally destructive. That's why I included the Tiki Room in my list.

COP is so outdated. I took my kids on it and they fell asleep. It is the most boring attraction i have been. The concept is good, but the actuality of it stinks.:snore::snore::snore:

I agree, Sounds Dangerous needs to kick the bucket. My dream is actually to work for the Disney company and I come up with some decent ideas, if I do say so myself. I say replace SD and create a Whose Line Is It Anyway? Live show.(Family friendly of course).

I'm also not impressed with Test Track anymore. I understand that it's a pretty popular attraction but I believe that it doesn't really impress guests anymore. The last time I rode it I was with my dad. It was his first time on it and after it was over I asked him how he liked it and he said it wasn't anything special. I'm not saying completely get rid of it but at least revamp it a little.

I also think that they should redo the DHS Backlot Tour. Catastrophe Canyon is getting a little old and I'm tired of seeing pretty much the same movie props over and over again. I say make a completely new disaster set, get all new props, and make the tour longer. Actually, a lot of things at DHS should be recreated. Which is why I'm so glad that they're making Star Tours II. That will be cool when its done. And I'm not sure if they're planning it but they should rewrite the script for Indiana Jones show. Maybe create some new scenes, possibly some from IJ4.

I also think the Jungle Cruise could do with a new spiel. Bad jokes said over and over again just get worse the more you hear them. :brick: Other than those items I think Disney World is doing a fantastic job with most of the attractions.

Stitch is something I thought would win this hands down but I forgot about American Idol. Look, the show is popular now, but it won't be here forever. Star Search was a comparable show in many ways and how popular would the attraction be if it was around today? Kind of like in 20 years how popular will American Idol be? Kids in 20 years will think we are dinosaurs for even bringing it up. I just have never liked Idol to start with so.........

Yeah I didn't really think of American Idol. I mean it just opened recently, I say let it get it's popularity out then replace it with something else. But since I haven't experienced the attraction in person yet I can't really say anything about it.

Have to agree and disagree with you on some points. For Sounds Dangerous, I like Whose Line a lot, but if there are really people complaining about American Idol and more than a few that are really hesitant about a LOST attraction, Whose Line would never make it. The show's been cancelled for around 6 years or so, just don't think it would go over as well. A new idea is needed for this space. Given its proximity to Star Tours and Indiana Jones, it may make a good space for an enctrance attraction to a possible Lucasland.

I still love Test Track, but do agree that it needs some updating, how major, I don't know. It may not be possible, depending on safety, but a good quick fix would be increasing the loop speed closer to their original planned speed.

I may be a in the minority, but I wouldn't mind them completely scrapping the Backlot Tour. It was really only worth it when it was bigger and they were more of a working studio, now it just doesn't work as well. Getting rid of that and LMA would really help give the park some room and open up many more new ride possibilities.

I still like the classic spiel on the Jungle Cruise, sure it's corny, but if you can get a good skipper they can elevate it a bit.

It is suppose to be dated and i don't see "thrill ride" listed anywhere on it. For me, this rides greatest appeal is the history behind it. Just because something isn't thrilling or modern doesn't make it unacceptable. It is suppose to educate and show you how far we have come. This is one of the attractions I would just love to be given free reign to explore. Did you explain to your kids the history behind the ride? I know the CM does their spiel on it.... but sometimes it helps if Mom and dad bring to the kids level.
We all have our own ideas of what makes an attraction appealing..... but I really feel this one is given the short end of the stick way to often.

I LOVE Carousel of progress! :sohappy:

OMFG! These kinds of threads/polls get more and more annoying and need to be stopped! They've been done way too much and obviously over-clutter this already cluttered forum!

If "None of them" was an option, I would've picked that.

There are actually five on the poll list that I haven't even been to or seen! But my vote would be for Sounds Dangerous above all but since that is not on the list I chose the Indy stunt show. I don't want to see it go, just updated. There are a lot of shows that could use some updating really.

But I do NOT want to see Stitch go. I like that ride, LOL. :p

Jounrey into Imagination and Tomorrowland Speedway should get a referb, not get kicked out in my opinion.

I voted for SGE, hate it with a passion. If I could have voted again it would be for American Idol, I don't see the point in having that.

I voted for (or should that be against?) Laugh Floor as it's the only attraction at WDW I dislike enough to be on my permanent "Skip List".

I'm not a big fan of American Idol either, and rarely do it, but it isn't on my permanent Skip List.

All of the other attractions on the poll are actually things I enjoy enough to do regularly, and some (Figment, Carousel of Progress, and Tiki Room) are favorites!

I do agree that Figment version 3 (current) is not as good as the original, but it is still really cute and I love the catchy and upbeat theme song! Figment and Nemo are my two Epcot faves!

The first version of the Tiki Room show is far superior as well, and obnoxious Iago makes me cringe, especially when he makes fun of the original. But he pays for his disrespect by getting zapped, and the rest of the show after that has kind of grown on me. I find Jose, Michael, Pierre, and Fritz still have considerable charm, and I can't imagine visiting the MK without stopping by to visit my beloved birdies! Having said all that, I would LOVE for the original show to make it's triumphant return.

I never got the hate on here for Stitch's Great Escape and I probably never will. I much prefer it over the darker, more sinister Alien Encounter, which didn't seem like a Magic Kingdom attraction to me. Stich is mischevious but not out to hurt anyone, so I find the current version of the show "cuter" (and I love the preshow AA's!) and more appropriate in tone for the MK.
