Where's Mickey's NEW MK Meeting Place?

:ROFLOL:Mickey is getting older every day too. Maybe he's going to live in one of the gazillions of retirement communities down in FL...I'm just not a huge princess fan. I'm a super "fab five" fan. Even thought TT is rather lame, it still is upsetting to me.

I'm gonna kind of miss Mickey and Minnies house. I know it's stupid but architecturally, I think it's kind of neat. On the other hand, really psyched about the expansion.

As I posted in another thread about this (directly from the Sentinel)

To accommodate the expansion, Disney will raze most of Mickey's Toontown Fair, the smallest of the Magic Kingdom's "lands." Gone will be both of the walk-through country houses where guests were guaranteed to meet Disney's most famous characters: Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Disney says Mickey and Minnie will get new homes near the front entrance of the park. .

The kids can still visit their houses; can't wait to see the new Meet & Greet set up.

I was telling my 7yo son about all of this fantasyland expansion and said they were going to close toon town. And he said "but mommy, that's where Mickey lives!" And I told him they were still going to close it and he asked why and I told him so they can make fantasyland bigger and put in more princess and fairy stuff and he proceeds to say "well that's super cr*ppish" I couldn't help but laugh. Then he almost cried because he doesn't know we're going in November and thinks he will never see toon town again. Another great surprise for our super surprise trip! :sohappy:

Actually, a bus driver told me that Mickey and Minnie were finally making the jump and SHARING a house. Separate beds, though, of course.

They aren't rushing things!

Contrary to what your bus driver told you, mine said that their house was going to replace the sorcerer's hat as the DHS icon

I'm not a fan of moving Mickey and Minnie up to the front of the park. Breaks a bit of continuity when a family visits Mickey at Expo Hall, then walks outside and sees him in the parade.

I know you can argue "magic" but having Mickey tucked in the back, made him seem like the one and only. And yes I know there is only one Mickey...

If the M&G is on Main St, I can't imagine any major construction to create a Mickey or Minnie house. Just wouldn't fit with the theming of MSUSA. Plus, wouldn't want to take away any shopping opportunities, so my guess is they'll just slide them in to Exposition hall.

After all, the actual Judge's Tent M&G was so underwhelming in theming and design, a simple set and backdrop would be an improvement...maybe keep the movies playing idea that made standing in the line for Mickey bearable...

The speculation is that Mickey and Minnie will be in Expo on Main Street. That will be their new "home", but the houses wont be part of that.

They might use a similar tactic to the Meet and Greets outdoors in Town Square inside the Expo Hall. When a parade comes close to Town Square, the characters go on break for 15 to 30 minutes so they don't appear in the same place at once.

I sent that to screamscape when I got home from my trip and it was posted on the MK page.

Not that you weren't right, but a little concerning to me if all it takes to get something on Screamscape is "I was at X and a cast member said..." I'm hoping they also had more reliable confirmations. Not that you're not, but how many people out there say "a cast member told me..."

Yes, if they allow M&M to stay in their meet and greet during the parade, I'd be very surprised. They don't do that today with any characters outside or near a parade route.

I really miss when the characters used to actually walk around. We had a hard time letting our daughter meet characters outside of a character dinner in February. It's insane to wait 75 minutes to have 20 second interaction with a character. We skipped the big top in Toon Town because of this and our daughter only saw Minnie and Mickey at Chef Mickey's.
