Besides that restaurant in the UK, where is the best location to view illuminations from? I need to know because I am going this friday. Thanks.

Across the street from Italy or next to the popcorn stand outside of Canada. Sweet talk the guy working there and you might get some free popcorn while he shuts down for the night.

My favs: Just in front of Germany, towards the African Outpost. In front of Norway. And one of the best, in front of the World Showcase Plaza.

The outdoor restaurant at Mexico (the name escapes me at the moment) is the best place. Sit at a table next to the water sip a few margaritas and enjoy. You will want to get there early so you can get a seat next to the water. Depending on how bust EPCOT is we will usually get there between 7:00 and 8:00.

If the show starts at 9?

I am seeing fantasmic! at 7, then catchin a ferry over to the boardwalk, and either walking ro boating to epcot.

Yes, people like to stake out their seats VERY early.

To the right of the American Gardens Theater in America (the right facing the theater). You get a straight on shot of Spaceship Earth, the globe comes from out of nowhere and one of the perimeter blast launches from right under you.

It kind of depends on how busy the park is. There are only ten or so tables next to the water so it fills up quick. Some days I have found a table at 8:30 and others I couldn’t get a table at 7:00. It is a great place to watch the fireworks but the timing needs to be right.

Personally, I like to stand right in front of Norway when watching Illuminations. What I like to go is to go into the Noregian Bakery and grab something to eat while we wait for it to start. Personally, I recommend the Cinnamon Rolls or the Dainish.

Illuminations

Anywhere between Canada, United Kingdom, and the International Gateway (entrance/exit for Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk, Swan, and Dolphin resort guests).

I defintely have to agree with this one! This is definitely my favorite place to watch Illuminations. The walk back to the front of the park is nice too. You're not in that huge crowd leaving... you're behind it.

Jonnie, what about fromt the taller bridge in Italy...we had an awesome view from there. Also the Balcony at Mitsokuri, in Japan, great view from there as well. And for something different, go to france, go to the bakery, get a pasty, and some white napkins, when the fireworkes go off...SURRENDER! :p

By the Tori gate in Japan

We used this place SO many times over christmas it's amazing
opposite the Japanese stores and slightly to the right of the Tori gate (looking at it from the stores) there are about 4 or 5 benches, if you get the one in the right hand corner it's amazing
you get to sit all the way through, and there's a big clearing between the fence and the Bonzai's

it's perfect for filming as you get the show and SSE in the background. there are several fence posts at different heights which are great as camera "tripods" and you get to see the globe close up as it glides across the lagoon

...plus if you wander from SSE to Japan towards the left you can call in China for take out spring rolls, Italy for coffee and you're set!

The best place to stand if you walk up about 15 minutes before show time is the clear area in front of Norway. Usually even right up until 9 there are only one or two rows of people watching the show.

If you have 30-45 minutes to spare, then the best place is the Germany/Italy area. These are better than Norway's vantage point, but they fill up much faster.

Personally, I think the best place is at the front of the World Showcase Lagoon (Facing America and in between the two gift shops).

Although it can be crowded, it is really an amazing place to see the show. The Globe comes TOWARD you. It feels like the show is facing you.

If you stand at America, the Globe is going away from you.

Places I've tried:

Best filming/video was from the San Angel Inn. I used the belt from my pants to strap the tripod to the railing. :lookaroun I now have bungee cords in the camera bags.

There's a picture...
