I'm looking forward to trying Yak and Yeti in May. I've had several clients tell me that they really liked it. I'm also looking forward to trying the Tusker House Donald's Breakfast.

Flame Tree is my favorite counter service at Animal Kingdom.

You know, Pizzafari really isn't that bad either. We ate there for the first time back in October and it wasn't pretty good. I got a Chicken Parmesan sandwich that was really good. Yak & Yeti is in a totally different league than everything else at AK though.

No matter which you choose I think you'll have a great time as all of the aforementioned restaurants offer pretty good food...even Rainforest Cafe.

Have a great trip!

Edit-I almost forgot...be sure to swing by the stand outside of Yak & Yeti and order one of the amazing Mango Green Tea Slushies!:slurp:

Dole Float...eat your heart out!

DH and I really love the Flame Tree....but kids always make us go to Pizzafari! :p

So when we are sans kids, we go to Flame Tree. They have the best chicken and Onion rings....huge portions of all items!

The best part of Pizzafari is the air conditioning.....

These are some really great tips! Thank you all very much. I think I am leaning towards Flame Tree but Pizzafari sounds good also.

I agree with many others that you can't go wrong anywhere in AK.

This past December we ate at Restarauntsaurus and it was good, really build your own hamburger, and we ate at the table in what was suppose to be a trailor it was really good.

In the past we have eaten at Flame Tree and I really liked that one, with different choices.

Haven't tried Tusker house since it went to buffet. And we didn't try Yak and Yeti but the menu looked interesting and good.

Flame Tree BBQ!

I'm adding my vote for Flame Tree BBQ!

Its counter service and you can pick your own table near the water that's overlooking Expedition EVEREST.

Flame tree is your best option. Avoid Yak and Yeti. Food was fair but price was brutal (lunch for 6 adults and 1 child was over $200 before tip)

Pizzafari--we ate there by "accident" last May (were waiting for next show time and happened by the restaurant.) Big crowds were there, but counter CM's were incredibly efficient--could not believe how fast our orders were ready--faster than most McDonalds. (3 people, all different orders) The pizza was very good, DD had some sort of chef salad w/chicken--she loved it. Even though the crowd seemed huge and the lines fairly long, the only people who had to wait for tables were those looking for seats together for groups of 6 or more people. Plenty of choices for groups of 4 or less. Only bad thing--and this applies to most counter service places--is the strollers in the way of where people need to walk between tables. Wish they could design designated seating area for stroller-families that allowed room to park strollers instead of having them blocking aisles every-which-way.

I agree with Jimmy

EPCOT always has the best food, but, living in Texas and having the best bbq at my disposal Flame Tree was ok. With 6 people in your party you will spend close to if not more than $100 at Flame Tree. Why not sit down in the a/c and have someone serve you for a little bit more. The Flame Tree seating is under an outdoor canopy with tables, but the birds you have to fight while you eat was not worth it to me. Tusker House is now a buffet and has a good selection for the kids. My recommendation for anyone eating at AK will always be Tusker House.

Flame tree BBQ or Pizzafari!!!

I second that. We got Pizzafari for the kids and my wife and I had Flame Tree. Everyone wins. . .

Mental note - recruit one of the kids to help carry back Flame Tree Grub to the table at Pizzafari. It is a pretty long way to walk carrying some ice cold Cokes and a couple of pulled pork sammies. :king:

It depends on what you are looking for and the weather.

If you want to take your time and eat a large meal, Tusker house is now a sit-down buffet, and Yak and Yeti has a table service place that is new, with mixed reviews.

If you want counter service, there's Pizzafari, Flame Tree, or Restaurantosaurus. Pizzafari is nothing special to me. Flame Tree has fabulous food, but all the tables are outside, and if it's a hot day it can be unconfortable. But the atmosphere is fantastic! Rest'aurus has good air conditioning, but ordinary food - good but ordinary. YandY also has counter service, also with mixed reviews.

There are plenty of places to get snacks of various kinds all over AK.

My personal preference: Flame Tree on a cool breezy day!

I do miss Tusker House CS. It was the Best! Got to eat there on the LAST DAY without knowing it!

My wife and I ate at Yak & Yeti in December and absolutely loved it(sorry Corrus)! The theming is amazing and above all the food is fantastic! Keep in mind that Yak & Yeti serves Asian food and your little ones may not be too keen on it but I'm pretty sure I saw some kid friendly items on the menu. If you go you absolutely have to try the Mango pie, it is amazing and quite possibly my favorite dessert on property. Try to get a table on the second floor, it really adds to the experience. Be sure to check out the gift shop outside as well(the name escapes me at the moment).

Agreed. Wife and I ate at the Yak & Yeti on December 30 and it was great.
