I need help on where to eat Lunch in Animal kingdom. I will be with my family (6 total, 2 adults, 4 kids) and in the past we have eaten at Rainforest but would like to try something different. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Yak & Yeti is open for either Counter or Table service. I will be trying it in a couple of weeks myself...

We had a great lunch at Restarantosaurus across from Dinosaur this past December. Service was super fast, meals were huge and the whole place is decorated with dinosaur artifacts. It has an outdoor eating area as well. The menu is your basic burger, hot dog, chicken fingers and fries but a great place when your on the go.

:sohappy:my family loves flame tree bbq for a counter service meal the food is great. they have ribs and roasted chicken, bbq sandwiches and salads and the portions are big. all seating is outside but well shaded. my families opinion best lunch option in the park.(that is after the change to tusker house ):sohappy:

IMO, all of the CS options in DAK are good. I enjoyed Yak n Yeti this December (we went the CS route) and like all of the other eateries. For me, DAK has the best CS options in WDW.

Same here, we love Flame Tree BBQ! And the seating is pretty shaded! We ate here at lunch time in mid-day sun and we still managed to get in the shade a little. We were there this June and it was packed!!! I sent my hubby for the food while I found a spot to sit with the kids. We will definitely be visiting this place again on our next visit!

If I just want something hot and tasty but light - Pizzafari! They have the best pizzas, very fast service, friendly cast members, and if you eat in one of my favorite rooms - bugs crawling on the ceiling!!! lol - each room is "themed" like everything else and there are no real bugs or animals. Even if there are long lines, don't hesitate to place your order, as they whip out pizzas like you would not believe!

Flame Tree BBQ is very nice, provides different options than the usual fare.

Though, our next trip will be the first since Yak & Yeti opened, so we'll try it out. You can find menus on this site under trip planning, always helps to know what they are offering before hand. Especially if you're a picky eater/have food allergies/on a diet/all of the above like me :p

edit to add: and if you do go to flame tree, go all the way down the path through the seating...we got great seats last time with a view of Everest across the water!

My wife and I ate at Yak & Yeti in December and absolutely loved it(sorry Corrus)! The theming is amazing and above all the food is fantastic! Keep in mind that Yak & Yeti serves Asian food and your little ones may not be too keen on it but I'm pretty sure I saw some kid friendly items on the menu. If you go you absolutely have to try the Mango pie, it is amazing and quite possibly my favorite dessert on property. Try to get a table on the second floor, it really adds to the experience. Be sure to check out the gift shop outside as well(the name escapes me at the moment).

We also really liked Flame Tree and although lots of folks like to slam it(my wife included), I really like Rainforest Cafe as well. We have yet to eat at Tusker house, but I have heard lots of good things about it. A bit off topic but can anyone tell me if they have started Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker yet? If they have, has anyone been yet and if so how did it compare to Donald's Breakfastosaurus?

Our meal at YAK & YETI was one of the most enjoyable we had during our visit last month!

I highly recommend it!

Save room for the MANGO PIE!

Here's another vote for Flame Tree Barbecue. We always eat lunch there and walk down to the seating area to look across the small lake to see Everest. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful area to eat a meal in all of the parks. We've seen turtles and frogs in the lake, as well as lots of birds. It's a serene atmosphere and the food is quite good. We love the pork sandwiches - it's always a filling lunch.
